  1. agreed, it's bad enough they're canadian and get held up as the pinnacle of canadian music, thank christ the arcade fire have made it big now. hopefully nickleback will fade into obscurity and we (canadians) can start quietly apologizing for them the same way we do with celine and brian adams.
  2. NickleBack ............its the same fucking song everytime
  3. thats what you wear to work Stevie? i thought you were in construction or construction management? fuck i'd end it all if i had to wear a suit to work, collared shirt and jeans is all that is required in BC, but then we're more relaxed over here. I am in the construction sector but I get people jobs rather than carrying bricks on me back mate. Stuffy? You have to look professional mate, seen plenty of you yanks in suits anyway. Where's BC by the way? Chicarggo? i hear you about the professional bit, its more a when in rome sort of thing, no one out here wears a suit unless you're in court or you're a accountant and even then i doubt it. you have to understand that I live in the middle of nowhere, BC (and you'll have to look it up stevie) only has a population of roughly 1.5 -2.0 mil people but most of those live in the lower mainland. point is if i lived in the city i'd have to wear more business attire, thats one of the reasons i came back out to BC when i finished school, i'm not much of a suit guy.

  5. Raises more anger with one particular poster...who has been subject to an intergalactic cunting from everyone else involved, including the local retard in the form of Wacky. One way taxi to Bridgend for ATP. not quite as bad as the intergalactic cunting you got for your wiki exploits....
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ peanuts obviously..
  7. ive got the storm2 which is the RIM answer to the iphone my only complaint is that the touch screen keyboard for typing sometimes picks a letter over from the one i've hit. this issue is remedied with the torch b/c it has an actual keyboard that slides out. i've heard that RIM products are more reliable than iphone as well, i've never <knocks on wood> had an issue while a lot of people i know with the iphone have had issues
  8. FYP...and yeah it's just you that's a bit annoying
  9. really? i don't think they meant to hit the pharma-factory....doesn't play well on the news (although i doubt the fact it wasn't a "weapons" factory ever made it to the news in any significant way), i think it can attributed to the general lack of good intel coming out of africa, similar to the shit intel which corroborated the move into Iraq, it also originated in africa iirc my point was just that clinton wasn't trying to deflect public opinion, he was just acting in a cavalier/cowboy manner to put a little payback to those that bombed the embassies in Tunisa and Kenya I don't think they give a fuck about the news. i disagree, why else would they have a whitehouse press secretary, it's all about spin. They have a press secretary to tell the press what to write. Not sure how that goes against what parky is saying. The fact the us media act as nothing more than stenographers only promotes a cavalier approach to the presidency. as does the "READY , FIRE, AIM" approach, which is what I was getting at. it's all well and good when the intel is correct and the objectives are acheived as planned, easy to spin it as "good fer 'merica" but if you blow up the only hope at providing affordable meds for the poorest continent on the planet, hard to spin that positively IMO

  12. thats not why he bombed the factory in Sudan. Oh yeah I forgot, Osama Bin Laden was hiding there building chemical weapons. Not that they bothered to check, which would have taken under 24 hours. Remarkable timing, given the Lewinsky scandal and the upcoming mid-term elections. "Officials later acknowledged, however, that "the evidence that prompted President Clinton to order the missile strike on the Shifa plant was not as solid as first portrayed." Indeed, officials later said that there was no proof that the plant had been manufacturing or storing nerve gas, as initially suspected by the Americans, or had been linked to Osama bin Laden, who was a resident of Khartoum in the 1990s."[4] Unfortunately the factory was Sudan's primary source of pharmaceuticals, covering the majority of the Sudanese market. Werner Daum (Germany's ambassador to Sudan 1996–2000) wrote an article in which he estimated that the attack "probably led to tens of thousands of deaths" of Sudanese civilians.[5]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruise_missil...8August_1998%29 it was a mislead attempt at retribution for the attacks on the US embassy in tunisia and kenya (iirc and i might not), but it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't about Clinton's sexual impropriety or lagging public opinion
  13. Vodafone pay their call centre workers £50k+ a year? HA! no from what i've seen, the valuation is usually double what they want you to pay DDB probably spent 1/3 -1/2 of 4400. Seems rather dodgy to me, i went out "looking" the other day and came away feeling that jewelery sales people may be worse than used car sales people.
  14. thats not why he bombed the factory in Sudan.
  15. agreed but it depends how much its being used, i can't see LM sending a ton of texts or gabbing on the phone whilst out and about. is that what you and the other women do ? no you giant dick, its not what i do. i was just pointing out that your battery shouldn't die after three days if you don't use your phone much.
  16. firstly, congratulations. Have you not asked her to pick the ring ? I would say price shouldn't be relevant, but she shouldn't be looking for one just because it costs a lot of money. All the best. cheers, i don't know about picking the ring with her, i like the idea of surprising her with it, and i think my taste is refined enough to pick out a stunner

  18. no worries, when putting a question like this on here you have to expect a certain amount of piss-taking. i have the stone picked out, just wondering if i don't spend "what's expected" (and i don't mean by her) ,does that make me a cheap cunt or a good bargain hunter?
  19. we've talked about it (marriage) and we're both ready. the question was just about whether or not anyone felt pressure to spend 3 months salary or not. really she's not going to know enough about diamonds (and neither do i) to be able to tell the difference between two stones. one bought at 3 months salary and another at significantly less. she's not flashy, but i'd like the ring to reflect how I feel about her. diamonds are forever, and i'd like her to know that this will be as well. (yeah Parky i know you think i'm being naive)
  20. cheers for the input everyone, glad my suspicions were correct about the diamond cartel propaganda.
  21. she'd kick my ass if i spent 3 months salary, she'd rather we bought a house. call me old fashioned but i don't go in for that picking together, it should be a suprise no? and as for everyone saying "run for the hills!!", i have waited this long to make the commitment because i only want to do this once and i have narrowly averted disaster with other women but i listened to my little voice and ran for the hills. No it should be a ring I like. Hence picking it together oh i get that, but i have impeccable taste..
  22. yeah i've been checking out different websites and information on diamonds i think i can muddle my way through The sex will be the same big diamond or little diamond. thank christ for that, the sex is fucking great. but i suppose all that will change when we're married.. It will and it doesn't stop there...They start to hate you, find fault in your little foibles (which were formerly charming), she will start buying stuff you don't want, she'll ask you to think about yourself and your life.....You'll flinch when you hear the front door go.... look i've been in a "life" relationship before and i didn't want to get married, my folks got divorced and i figured it was jsut a scam. truth be told it never even crossed my mind before, now when i got together with (soon to be) mrs. tooner/mohammed, i knew within a few weeks this was the girl i was going to spend the rest of my life with.
