  1. put some clothes on, sea level is set to rise don't cha know!
  2. .....just fell off my chair, i could have sworn LM and RW agreed on something..
  3. cheers!...spent loads of time scouring the net for the best deal, spent just under $2K. would have been more if i bought in canada which is why i went with a US seller, luckily i live 5 min from the border and had it delivered to a pick up in washington, went down to get some gas and picked it up, duty free so to speak. edit....was feeling nervous about buying online, but the stone is nicer than anything i saw in person better cut quality and clarity as well, may have been due to choosing an oval cut instead of a round cut. oval looks bigger than a round of the same weight.
  4. cheers....you'll have to wait till I'm back in cell service range. going to a remote secluded natural hotspring, hope the snow is gone from there as it is north facing and the hike in could be significantly more arduous if it isn't. It'll be a fucking sight more arduous coming back if she says no. Best of luck mate, hope it all goes well. ....fucker! no kidding, i've thought of that already....which is to say i've chosen to ignore that possibility, but thanks for reminding me. if she says no, i'll send her back to the truck on her own and drink the bottle of bubbly myself before returning.....
  5. its a nice touch, I did it, go ahead and do it. When my daughter decides to get married, I'd like whoever its going to be to ask me. Edit. I would ask her first though, then probably tell her you want to ask her dad......not sure I did this, but I can't imagine asking her dad first then she says no ! And it might piss her off if you sort of took her answer for granted too. fair enough but how do i keep it a 'surprise' and do all that, to me the surprise factor out weighs the uncertainty factor. i figure its all in the question asked, not for permission to propose, but rather for his blessing/best wishes for me to propose. that way the answer is not assumed. cheers for the input

  7. thats what I figured (and planned). he's a fairly traditional kinda guy so i figured he'd appreciate it...cheers
  8. ok ring sorted, gonna pop the question this weekend. one more question though, should i be asking her dad for his permission to marry his daughter? is that an antiquated bit of hoop jumpery or a serious consideration? how many of you did this before proposing? i'm nervous as fuck even though i know she'll say yes, so i'm over thinking this ....
  9. disagree...if fergie had managed to get through the season undefeated I would have agreed, but no losses over the course of a season is nothing to joke about.
  10. your alter-ego it would appear. So you weren't a submariner then ?
  11. and fwiw that wasn't the question, the question was...... What about the people who go and meet people from all over the world and study them and their interactions, write them down, take them back to their comfy chairs and (from their notes) pass on this information to others? ....but then why start answering the questions put to you now? might as well keep with the status quo and make no sense what so ever..... or do you really believe that all books have been written in a vacuum, and that no one in the history of publishing has ever gone out and actually done research or interviewed people or written down their own 'real world' experiences ?
  12. such as who ? Meets who ? ...does not compute...zzzzt zzztt.... ok Mohammed. The question is quite straightforward btw ........ ie if someone meets YOU, its quite obvious they are listening to a brainwashed pc correct hippy....waste of time. i do not want this record...it is scratched.

  14. King is my guilty pleasure, what haven't you read? different seasons is brilliant, the stand (bit long but a great story)is my favorite, the bachman books is awesome the real running man story shits all over the travesty that was AH-nolds mooovie, and the long walk is a scary commentary (or view into the future considering it was written +30 years ago) on reality programming. just read his latest collection as well, Full Dark No Stars, it was meh i've read enough of his stuff that I can see the twist coming form a mile away.
  15. i've never heard of them either and its one festival those are all the different stages, its a 5 day party in the middle of no-where, it did win this http://www.breakspoll.com/blog/breakspoll-2011-the-results/ best large festival, and you're right it's like nothing else i've seen anywhere.....and there's lots of toplessness.....
  16. your words not mine.... , i said (well actually the article says it) there was some confusion from the cig smoking demographic. what do the packages look like in the UK? here they've started (actually about 10 yrs ago now) putting these warning pictures on the packages, like a cancerous lung or tongue or a prego woman smoking or a limp cigarette to signify the possibilty of E.D. from smoking. Do they have similar pictures or warnings on packages over there?
  17. i thought you lived in germany not japan, No? Parts of the radiation cloud, albeit tiny amounts has been around the whole of the northern hemisphere by now. there's enough regular pollution kicking around that radiation should be the least of your worries...
  18. i thought you lived in germany not japan, No?
  19. while technically drinks are 'free' when you are playing, if you don't tip the waitress she'll take a long time getting back to you, $1/ drink is still dirt cheap and it keeps the booze flowing.
  20. http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2011/0...els-colour.html Smokers in Western countries continue to falsely believe that some cigarette brands may be less harmful despite bans on the words "light" and "mild" on packaging, a study finds. For the study in Tuesday's online issue of the journal Addiction, researchers polled 8,243 current and former smokers 18 and over in Canada, the U.S., United Kingdom and Australia about their beliefs on the risks of cigarettes. One-fifth of smokers believed incorrectly that "some cigarette brands could be less harmful" than others, David Hammond of International Tobacco Control and his co-authors found. False beliefs were higher in the U.S. and U.K. In more than 50 countries, cigarette manufacturers are no longer allowed to use labels such as "light" and "mild." In some cases, they've switched to "silver" and "gold" brands. Research suggests smokers base their perceptions of risk on package colouring. "These beliefs are associated with descriptive words and elements of package design that have yet to be prohibited, including the names of colours and long, slim cigarettes," the study's authors concluded. The smokers in the study showed they also falsely believed that: Slim cigarettes are less harmful. Cigarettes with harsh taste are riskier to smoke than smooth-tasting cigarettes. Filters reduce risk. Nicotine is responsible for most of the cancer caused by cigarettes. "The findings highlight the deceptive potential of 'slim' cigarette brands targeted primarily at young women," Hammond said in a release. "The findings also support the potential benefits of plain packaging regulations that will soon take effect in Australia, under which all cigarettes will be sold in packages with the same plain colour, without graphics or logos." if they think different colors confuse the issue, wait til they make all the packaging the same color...
  21. Houseboat? fuckin well built house!!! i'm guessing that load exceeds the design roof load......
  22. now now, you're the one that used the quotes around people. i agree that the people that attacked and killed the UN workers are fanatical extremist wankers, if you investigate a little bit you'll find other new stories that point out there were other peaceful protests that took place in other parts of the country and that it was a violent minority that perpetrated the crimes at the protest in the OP. as for saying how it is!??! i would suggest that you don't say it how it is, but rather how you perceive it is. there is a distinction to be made between those two things.
