IPCC report on climate change for 2013 leaked early
ChezGiven replied to Happy Face's topic in General Chat
Parky predicted the financial crisis in 2005, back then he sounded crazy too. -
The way you gan on Gloomy, your boss won't be surprised.

Do you think we are still in a relegation battle...?
ChezGiven replied to south_cheshire_toon's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's not flawed logic, it might not happen but it assumes that in the long term we tend toward our average performance. From a pure probabilistic perspective, it's more likely that we will not continue with a trend that bucks the long term. -

Statistically we tend not to lose 10 in 13, so that run is an outlier meaning a regression to the mean is possible. To balance this losing run out, a better than average run could be then seen as increasingly probable. -
What word did she use for 'move'?

Harsh but fair. SLP runs a tight ship.

Danny Simpson does have the X Factor
ChezGiven replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Haidara, Santon, Debuchy, Raylor, Tavernier, Anita. Simpson was on borrowed time ever since United-gate. -
Gently does it for this next round. If we get through, by the next round we'll know a bit more how the league is going. I wouldnt go all out and risk injuries, tiredness across the squad but with Ben Arfa coming back and some of the new boys not being eligible, you'd expect a good balance.

Yanga-Mbwia can start now the pressure is off, i dont think it would have been fair on him to throw him in at the deep end. I dont know the lad's game that well but i was discussing him with a mate last night in the pub and he said he's a bit 'nerveux', not in the literal 'nervous' sense more like a bit of a jittery character. I presume going off how he comes across in interviews. Tiote has been poor at times this season but he's had a lot of games without Cabaye next to him. When he plays with Cabaye, his game is simple as he can focus on defensive duties and breaking up play. Him and Cabaye have hardly played together this season and he's been next to Anita, Jonas etc who were also struggling.

Fucking Sangria man, its minging. The Spanish are right pikeys when it comes to mixed wine drinks. The one thing i cant get my head round is Kalimotxo, which is a Basque name but they drink it all over. Its red wine and coke! I think it comes from Cuba Libre and not being able to afford decent rum so they mix the coke with table wine which is i suppose not too different from the desire to mix drinks with red bull nowadays. Anyway, our lass's dad's birthday lunch today. 2 bottles of this.

Not sure he'd get through 3 days of whisky if he was on Antabuse. Doesnt make sense though since 'he's had 2 pints' isnt 'he's been drinking for 3 days'. Was probably clearer if you were there, rather than reading a report of the event. So sad but those around him cant give up on him.

The last 2 wins does mean looking up the table is now relevant. We needed those 6 points to put us in contention with the 5 teams immediately above us. They all lose their next game by a few goals, we win by a few goals (very very unlikely, a point would be brilliant) and 10th place is there. Any result at Spurs, then a win at home to Southampton will see us actually move up into mid-table. The 2 teams immediately above us play each other next and the mackems play Arsenal.

19 shots, 13 on target according to the BBC. 21 shots, 11 on target according to the Observer.

And Jonas and Santon and all of them. One moment that showed all the difference between Debuchy and Simpson. Debuchy intercepts the ball just outside our box and sprints forward. Instead of lumping it long to Cisse, which is exactly what Simpson would have done, he gets his head up and squares a pass to Gouffran with just enough in front of him to allow Gouffran to run on to it and for us to break at pace.

Home win after too many defeats at SJP Beat Chelsea Jonas scores and play amazingly New signings look awesome Sissoko's winner Everton come back to take the points off Villa Mackems lost Wigan late equaliser keeps points off Southampton Norwich and QPR draw Good day.
-
Obviously that was an incredible performance from Sissoko and he will deserve the column inches tomorrow but Gouffran was superb as well.
-
What a game. Amazing.
-
That awful Villa side who only had a good second half because we let them must hae met a shit Everton side today.
-
Excellent first half. Whatever the result, Pardew needs some credit for getting the new lads and Jonas playing superbly. Can't believe that yellow for Perch, so harsh.
