People need to think about the level Murphy is playing at this season and then they need to see where he sits among the whole of Europe in goal involvements. In this division only Salah and Isak sit above him. Now go and think how much a direct replacement might cost. He’s one of the best players in Europe in his position this season and he needs to be replaced with very similar quality. Not sure if Mitchell is known for utilising the loan market to any great extent but I look at Asensio at Villa and I think he’s been a good signing. Champions league would help with that, so does Spanish manager too I suppose..

Yeah I looked at the years so assumed he was there. Gordon fails to make bench

Start Isak, he’s plainly being “managed” ie he can’t do more than an hour. Osula isn’t trusted at this level yet, disappointing but I really don’t think Howe will see him as a centre forward for at least 18 months, he’s an option at right midfield. Start Barnes, replace Isak with Gordon for fresh legs. If Wilson had buried that chance v Brentford the conversation around him would be very different; there’s not a lot to say he won’t score such a chance this week… certainly can’t see a future here for him beyond May but let’s see how he goes…it might just take him getting a single goal for his confidence to go through the roof….
