  1. Chamakh to West Ham Tal Ben Haim to QPR Both on loan for rest of season.... Think QPR get the best deal there....
  2. Cheers The ferry from Pompey to Bilbao in that link is a riot....loads of stags and hens from Pompey just book it there and back,,,,police have been known to be waiting at both ends Think we'll fly and probably do a few of the cities by train, then if we fancy going somewhere a bit more rural/coastal may hire a car out there if its somewhere without a rail link nearby.
  3. We're on the south coast, flew to Nice from Gatwick for the Marseille semi final in 2005..not my cup of tea tbh, but I see what your saying. Its me who fancies the Basque country, she seems ok with it as long as she can have a few days by the sea. Thats on the "must do" list too....looks stunning, I know Chez's a fan too. Rick Stein's programme from there last year was fabulous. Soceidad are a proper club as well, but think we're going too early to catch a game .
  4. Is it free for a couple of weeks in July? Not seen Shirley Valentine...thought it was about middle aged slappers shagging Greek waiters?...
  5. you fuckin havent given naturism a go as well have you??!!....I'll let other judge if you have the typical body for that sort of thing, I couldnt possibly comment...
  6. Hopefully, this year is going to contain... Stone Roses at Finsbury Park Glastonbury 10 days in the French/Spanish Basque country.....anyone know of a good beech resort in this area, pref. not Biarritz?...Mrs PL is pissed off with Seahouses apparently. Strange girl... Belgian GP at Spa Some time at my folks so we can get to Seashouses then
  7. if thats right Tav starts and its Willo and Perch in the middle.... silver lining is no embarrassing posts for the best place to park in North London for Wembley on here this season
  8. We got 5th on the back of his goals last season...what if we'd spent the 10 million we need to spend now to replace him then?...tbh, I can't think of many (if any) who would have performed better for us even if we had gone out and spent that sort of money, but the mere existance of the clause indicates what his priorities were i.e. looking to make the most amount of money out of his career. Fair play to him, but the best I can say about him he quite plainly tried his socks off whilst here, at the same time as being a mercenary bastard. A lot better than some...yes, thats you Michael Owen.
  9. How do we replace £10-15millions worth of striker with the 5 million we're getting from the deal and Mike Ashley signing the cheques?....
  10. I said earlier we really are down to the bare bones like....not a player on the bench the other night over 21, two senior strikers, fuck me if Cisse gets a bad injury we're turbo screwed. A year ago yesterday we twatted manu 3 nil
  11. Fuck that. I'm going and was there last season, don't want to walk out of the ground again feeling fuckin humiliated. No midweek games, play as near to full strength as we can. If we play the youth team we'll get beat.
  12. We need a win for morale more than anything....Tav in at right back is the only change I'd make at the back, Perch into the centre of the park for Tiote...after that its tricky....if we're going 433 theres not much choice but to pick Shola tbh. Thing is Marveux offers little defensively, and Obertan not a lot more...its bare bones time atm.
  13. Unconfirmed comments from Osvaldo Coloccini - father of United's Fabricio and youth team director at Argentinian side San Lorenzo - made to a TV station in Argentina and reported on the Goal website: "Fabricio wants to play for San Lorenzo and he is trying his best to find an elegant way to leave Newcastle. We don't know what Newcastle will come up with, but Fabricio is trying to rescind his contract because he wants to be back at San Lorenzo. http://www.nufc.com/index.htm
  14. Good point Davey...when you bring in only 5 million or so and have a 15 million pound player to replace, it doesn't look quite such a bit of good business iyam. Without his goals we wouldnt be in Europe this season, so we'll see how much our Europa run brings in.
  15. Random human skulls have been found at the bottom of ditches on a lot of the ramparts around Iron Age hillforts (they litter almost every peak in the Cheviots) that have been excavated...these were placed on the stockades to ward off evil spirits by the local tribesmen. These are known as "Ghost Fences" Lanterns are just watered down ghost fences...that makes me happy too
  16. I think thats spot on...all the major religious festivals have been established to cover earlier pagan rites....ever wondered why bonfire night is close to Hallowean?...large parts of the population still lit fiires in the 17th century to mark the end of the old Celtic year, often two side by side which cattle were then driven between before they were ritually slaughtered for food during the winter months...the Puritans co opted the fire thing so they could perpetuate the persecution of Roman Catholics in England...which, to prove old traditions really do die hard in these islands, went on until quite recently...
  17. Got to have an AC/DC track I reckon...Thunderstruck is ok, but Back in Black is one of the first tracks Brian Johnson recorded with them and hasnt been bettered...
  18. More frightful paganess!!! The date is close to the vernal equinox, as Christmas is to the winter solstice; because of this the Annunciation and Christmas were two of the four "Quarter days" in medieval and early modern England, which marked the divisions of the fiscal year (the other two were Midsummer Day, or the Nativity of St. John the Baptist—June 24—and Michaelmas, the feast day of St. Michael, on September 29).
  19. Mayday is Beltane...a pagan celebration of ewes starting to give milk..as far as I know its had no bearing on on any calender...this has though, its all to do with when Easter is celebrated.. http://en.wikipedia....Synod_of_Whitby Wasn't the world run by these bad boys for a long time?... http://en.wikipedia....Julian_calendar http://en.wikipedia....gorian_calendar
  20. Lindisfarne "Run for Home" The Jam "Start"
