  1. Well that happened to me 30 years ago when we moved north of the border so its not a new thing tbh. Thing is, most people who live outside of England but in the UK are pretty indifferent to the English but they know things like booing the national anthem (again, something that goes back decades in football) drives English folk to distraction, so they do it all the more. A lot of it is a wind up, but there are exceptions where idiots hate people theyve never met and know little of, but they're everywhere, in England too... We're powerless to stop people wanting to harm us with terrorism if you ask me. We can't change our history in the present and someone is always going to use it to beat us over the head. The security services do a pretty brilliant job stopping the threats from various nutjobs, but it can't be perfect so some terrible things are always likely to happen on our streets in the name of someone's bullshit "cause".
  2. WTF you going on about "That thick scouser". I made me above point because a lot geordies support Scotland and follow the Scottish league hence snakeships comment. Also geordies and the Scottish can understand each other when they speak. I know famous geordies when they go on the telly they need English lessons hence Ant and Dec and Cheyrl Cole. Thats the reason byker grove crashed mate. No one could understand the fuckers.
  3. Stainrod appears to be making a cast for more French business, seeing of anyone or any other club bites....maybe he fancies himself as some sort of Willie Mckay type? Fuck me that would be a strange ambition in life
  4. Book recommndation....this has been out for a while and I think is quite well known but it's a brilliant read if you feel that Andy McNab is a bit of a sap http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...ey-1719368.html
  5. Made even more ridiculous by the fact that we'll have had 1 game in 4 weeks. Made even more ridiculous by the fact that the Villa game is on Sunday 10th. So it is....I'l just get me coat
  6. Man Utd at home is now on Tuesday 19th April at 7 45pm.....we play Villa at 4pm on the Sunday 17th...just over 50 hrs between the games for us...Man Utd play Citeh in the cup on Sat 16th....why the fuck cant it be played on the Wednesday? Manu's next game is Everton the following Saturday as is ours v Blackpool....Is this a Sky take it or leave it thing?...or Fergie manipulating it for his own ends? http://nufc.com/2010-11html/fixtures.html http://www.manutd.com/en/Fixtures-And-Resu...s.aspx?pageNo=4
  7. didnt she get custody of Bubbles when Jacko croaked it?....poor little fucker
  8. Google Newcastle 5 Leicester 4 and stick it in youtube. Listen to the roar when McGhee makes it 5-4. Thing of the past that noo, only 21,000 or so there too. Best noise I can remember was first home game of the season against Spurs who Gazza had just joined, we'd lost 4-0 at the blue dippers the week before, and were supposed to get stuffed off Spurs too, but we were winning 2-0 after 4 minutes, both goals at a dangerously full Gallowgate End. There was 45,000 in that day imo. Given as about 35,000. Was that the day the new Milburn Stand was openened as well as Gazza being there??? I agree with the attendance stuff anarl, I am positive 'they' used to doctor them - probably for tax purposes. Milburn first opened it's doors against Spurs, but it was 6 months previous - when Gazza was playing for us and scored both goals in a 2-0 win. Aye but it wasn't fully open at all 87/88. The whole stand was open that first home game day, was the sunniest day ever at the start of the game. Half time came 2-0 up and the weather changed, and Waddle the cunt scored after 5 seconds of the second half. Here's one for you Craig who did he play all of the 1 2's with? It ended 2-2, but that 2-0 game pissed it doon, best game Gazza had for toon imo, that or the year before when ye took the piss out of Paul McGrath. I've still got the program for that and you're half right as far as I can remember...we beat Spurs at home 2 nowt in a fuckin blizzard!
  9. Thats how much he paid the Hall's and Shepherd for their shares in 2007, which made the club hugely overpriced. Now how much has he put in since then? Never played any online management game but it doesn't appear to be very accurate from what you've said there. Don't believe the spin, Ashley got the club for a fair price, which took all the debt into consideration. The ground alone is worth 300m. Ashley messed up by not knowing the mortgage (around £50m) was repayable straight away when the club was sold. So how much did he pay then Phil?....we were a PLC then, the price would have to have been disclosed to the stock market. Anyone else want to take a guess at how much he'll want for the club so he can make his money back? For me, that figure is high and is going to be the biggest obstacle to the club moving forward in the short, medium and long term.

  11. So you're saying that Newcastle United are worth 200 mill+ to someone or some collection of individuals with nothing but profit on their minds?....the thing is theres no comparable club thats been sold recently. Villa went for 62.6 million in 2006, before the credit crunch etc. We would naturally claim we are a bigger club than them, higher profile, bigger turnover, matchday revenue etc etc...but we probably don't completely dwarf Villa in those regards. Are we worth 140million more than they were before the worldwide financial crisis because we can flog more pies and shirts?...I personally don't think so. Am willing to be proved wrong though. Thaksin Shinawtra paid 21.2mill for Man City, and Shiekh Mansour paid 170mill to Thaksin to clear their debt, along with about 50 million for his shares. The chances of a another Sheikh Mansour appearing are,if you ask me, remote to the point of virtual non existance . Does anyone want to become a club like Man City and all the hatred and jealousy that comes with that?...look at the money thyve shelled out and theyre rubbish without Tevez. Better to grow a club organically if you ask me, but am sure some will disagree with that. Dr Gloom said that we're stuck with him until the financial situation is better and that is certainly true. The rest is just conjecture and wishful thinking. But I can't see anyone paying 200mill plus for us, sad to say.
  12. Mike Ashley will want 200mill minimum. I don't think there is anyone out there that will pay that much for Newcastle United, regardless of how much we feel the club is worth. Put sentiment aside. Think about it. If he does get that much for the club then the chances are the buyer will be a bigger fuckin idiot than he is.
  13. What about the yes man he sacked Hughton for?...anything to do with him?...
  14. We were on about this on the way to the game yesterday.....we were 33/1 on Friday night when one of the lads checked....now we're anything from 10s to 16s... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/englis...ague/relegation
  15. Good lad Quinn. He's fat he's round he's worth a million pound Micky Quinn, Micky Quinn. If Liverpool play like they did the other night I think the mackems will win 2-0, nee Gerrard as well, nee Gerrard, nee good as far as the WP's are concerned. Celtic v Rangers on today at 3pm in the Scottish League Cup Final. Divvint ignore this question people. How do you get BBC Scotland in England? Can you get it online? Is it on bbc1 Scotland then? If you've got sky or cable scroll through and you'll come across "BBC 1 Scotland" it's 861 on Virgin media as I've just discovered
  16. Are Bale, Modric and Defoe better than Ronaldo, Ozil and Benzema?...not in my book tbh. Real v Chelsea final I reckon....Mourinho back in London to get his 3rd european cup against his old club
  17. Just listening to Mick Fitzgerald on 5live..he said Long Run broke the Gold Cup course record by 15 SECONDS! Long Run is 6, Kauto Star and Denman are 11 which means they both smashed it too... I had 40 quid on Long Run @ 7/2....£180 off out to celebrate
  18. Billy Askew was a great player for Hull, just shite for us had a lot of injuries. He made his debut against Brighton and I was playing football on a field after the game, and who turns up with his Staffy Bull Terrier but Billy Askew, he'd had a shite game. "Billy ye wo magic the day like", then he started talking and I called him a mackem which he took well, but he took his dog home and had a kick about with us for 30 mins, was like playing with Pele at the time or so it felt 11 year old. Sweeney was pony but I remember one game he was like Roberto Carlos against Derby in the ZDS, he scored to this day one of the top 5 goals I've seen at SJP. Do you remember the goal Gazza scored against Chelsea at SJP in his last season?...beat about 4 of them before nearly taking the net out with his finish?....never even seen a recording of it since the day it went in but I'll never forget that one... Only home game I missed that season. Think we won 3-1, and fuck knows how I know this you won't be able to google it, but Kevin Wilson, some kid with a tash scored for Chelsea. Gazza must've put the ball through the stanchion 6 times that season, not enough words could describe how good he was. Aye we won 3-1, had 'Bones' sent off and they had two penalties saved by Gary Kelly. Fucking awesome game. Pitch was a boggy shitpit as well IIRC. There was a canny few sendings off that season. Game against Portsmouth I remember we had someone sent off and they did too, it was either Quinn, Dillon or Kevin Ball for them, fuck knows who for us, and they still had that wanker with the bell even then 23 years ago. Dillon for them, Peter Jackson for us. Full on fucking boxing match going on in the Gallowgate penalty area IIRC. Aye we did have a fair few sent off. Gazza went twice, once at QPR and once at Derby (where he kicked the shit out of their physio's bucket). Why am I remembering all this shit? Thought it was Martin Kuhl for them...? just googled it and as Stevie said even the fuckin internet doesn't have the answer to some of the sad shite on here

  20. Spurs get Real fuckin Madrid in the European Cup quarter finals.... http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/draws/index.html
  21. Anth Lormor (not Howey) and Darren Jackson on the right. No...both wrong and to be fair I don't think either played for the first team...
  22. Did anyone ever sort this out? because it's been confirmed on the facebook page where these piccies are coming from....I won't let the cat of the bag if someone wants to hazard a guess as to who's sharing the water with Mira and Davey....
