  1. Its madness in this country that so many kids go on to do degrees, particularly at the tax payers expense. Some of the stupid fucking subjects they now do degrees in make no sense. Much better ploughing that same money into apprenticeships.
  2. Just got back from this and without doubt one of the best value for money days out we've had in a long time. Arrived at 8.30 and just got back at 5 Loads of traditional animal stuff, best of breeds etc, dog display team, horse stunt show, show jumping, coach driving displays. Ferret racing, join in archery, tents and tents of crafts, farmers Market foods stuff. Old car rally with gorgeous pristine cars, camera and motorbikes. A steam rally with steam rollers and loads more engines. Can't really praise this show enough and would reccomend it to you all for next year. We've had such a great time that were even thinking of attending the really big county show in Harrogate, later in the year. Wow No offence, and I'm glad you enjoyed your day out, but without exception that all sounds fucking shit. Whatever floats your boat I guess, but coming from a connoisseur of large greenhouses in Cornwall I assure you no offence taken.

  4. Currently Fiat Doblo Taxi favourite ever was a close call between a company BMW 323 automatic leather etc and as a 18 year old or so, a gorgeous lancia beta hpe estate which was like shit of a stick and generally luxurious compared to the escorts and capris of the day. Favourite car I always wanted but never got was a triumph stag.
  5. Has anyone drawn up a list of all the current and ex toon players at the world cup?
  6. Now we know why the liberals are so keen on electoral reform.... What with this and the gay liberal these liberals are a right bunch of sleazemeisters
  7. Why don't you become a politician - start as a councillor? After lots of years at the top of the slippery corporate pole, I couldnt really go back into anything that was false, back biting or full of office politics. Lifes too short for all that crap. Aye, but I'm not talking ministerial politics here. Councillors can really help people at a local level. You'd get out and about, get an allowance to make it worth your while, and you'd be pursuing something you believe in. You could still taxi as well. Na , you need to be blinkered like you to make a good councillor I chop and change with the wind. Anyway found a nice vo role for one day a week so have applied for that. Must admit feeling like I have hit rock bottom if someone doesnt even want you for freebie.
  8. Get yerself to the next Keith Pattison auctions. Check their website to see whats coming up. In your position you should get a cracking deal.
  9. Fried egg sandwich 60 minutes from chickens "warmth" to Pan....Delicious

  11. I don't think it will. I'm considering moving but have no idea when will be the best time. Anytime is the best time. The ups and downs of the housing market only really effect people either just starting or just finishing. For everyone else what you lose or gain when selling is usually mirrored by what you lose or gain when buying. If anything there should really be some great bargains out there due to a lot of repossessions.
  12. Much better to do both really. Driving for a living is one of the worst things for your health btw - you need to hit the gym! Is true. Being thinking of a career change but cant really think of anything I fancy. Its very hard going back to regular 9-5 after self employment. Crap at pratical stuff Couldnt do labour intensive Quite fancied Social work but may be too unsympathetic Couldnt fancy the corporate rat race again Which basically leaves bo diddly squat. Even considered doing some volunteer work but it would have to be interesting.
  13. And its announced today that Mortgage lending increased by 7% last month
  14. I would have guessed stressful job + lots of junk + lots of exercise = Heart attack territory. Much better just improve your diet.
  15. Just sold a property in East Boldon that went on the market in March and sold very quickly. Really depends where the property is and how realistic you are about the price. Would guess its a bit tougher in places like West Denton
  16. Bet I know them all as well We're almost related
  17. I grew up 500 yards from that house and spent many a happy Autumn collecting conkers from the conker tree in the foreground.
  18. We used to have a shop in Southbank, middlesborough that was shithole central. Used to have a post office a few doors away that was forever getting robbed.
  19. That's Denton Manchester that. No it's not !
  20. I know the probable answer, but do you think you have more in common with a farmer in Hexham or Berwick or someone from South Tyneside? I think people in South Tyneside have more in common with all the urban people of Tyneside than the wilds of either old county - I don't see why anyone from Shields should feel akin to someone from Bishop Aukland more than someone from North Shields. Definitely more in common with someone from Hexham. It's 17 miles to Hexham from here, and probably 17 miles to South Shields. HTT used to talk pure shite, but he made a cracking point saying people from South Tyneside are a different type of geordie to ones from Newcastle so true. Some good points made in this thread.... http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/...ic,34150.0.html Dont think many south tyneside people consider themselves "Geordie" other than the collective "Geordie" persona taken on by supporting Newcastle. Shields people are sandancers and originally East Boldon (when I was young) was part of County Durham. Jarrow and Hebburn folk may because they are pretty close to Newcastle and live on the banks of the tyne.
  21. :) Where abouts in Boldon? ASDA, what a place, more Sunderland tops than Butlins to be honest as well. Aye it is the food source of choice for the Redhouse, Town end farm, Downhill and Castletown areas. Used to hate it when the company I worked for had the Taxi contract there. Makem accent to me is like finger nails down a blackboard. Should have ventured upto East Boldon...... Makem Free.
  22. And Draco forgets what shite he spouts
