At least when it’s over you’ll feel like a God! You took it on, kicked its arse and will be topped up with all those natural antibodies. @Gemmill will be so jealous of your superhuman status. All the best.

Me and the wife were watching the news conference last night, both in disbelief at how many people in the UK (iirc it was 9 million), were unvaccinated. You then look at the charts clearly showing the vast majority of people in hospital, on ICU and dying, are unvaccinated. Unbelievable really that people are still choosing to go without.

Must admit until you posted that I can’t say I’ve heard of it. A quick Google says that Oxford are doing a clinical trial on it. Ive only been watching him a short while and I must say the videos I’ve watched seem very good and usually a better breakdown of the latest science that’s out there. Has he actually been telling people to take the drug before the trial is completed?

Yep. He’s very good 👍🏻

Our lass now being told to work from home because one of our grandchildren tested positive. Going to be a lot of people off work if they continue with that sort of stuff.

Me and the boy had it pre Christmas and the other 3 didn’t catch it. We’d already pretty much excepted it would be paying us a visit and we accepted individual isolation was not going to work on various levels. A year earlier we would have had a totally different mindset. Even though most people seem to be having either no symptoms or a very mild cold, it’s still a very scary prospect so I can understand your wife’s reaction. We’ve had a couple of years of horror stories so it’s bound to make people scared. I was terrified in the first few days thinking when is this going to hit my chest etc I couldn’t of imagined a week locked up with my son and Fortnite Good luck with it all.

Nice https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/a-new-year-message/ The turn of the year is, of course, a time when we all reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Despite the current challenges, we see a bright and, ultimately, successful future for Newcastle United. The Club has amazing fans. It has serious, long-term investors. And the Club has a workforce committed to getting the best for both the football club and the City of Newcastle. Obviously, we face some stern challenges ahead of us – not least the issues surrounding the continuing pandemic. But we will meet these challenges with fierce determination and a strong resolve to improve every aspect of the Club, while playing a full role in the community we serve. As we look back at the last twelve months, we were of course delighted to finally complete the purchase of the Club on 7 October. This reflected the patience of each investor and the belief that we would get the deal done. It also reflects the commitment of Mike Ashley and his team – shown over a lengthy period – to ensure that not only did the deal go through, but that ownership of the Club passed to people who could take the Club forward responsibly. We thank Mike and his team for that commitment as, without it, the deal would not have been possible. We also thank each member of our staff, who have embraced the changes that have already been made and shown a tremendous work ethic in very demanding circumstances. We all know that we have a great deal to do, but we will strive to fulfil this great Club’s promise. As ever, the massively passionate support of our fans will be crucial as we look to improve our results on the pitch. We have had a very tough first half of the season, but you have been right behind the team and we want to take this opportunity to let you know how very much we appreciate it. Our most recent match at St. James’ Park showed the power that can be generated when the players and supporters unite and feed off each other, and it was wonderful to experience that special atmosphere. Let’s take that positivity into 2022 as we aim to progress on and off the pitch. We have very important fixtures ahead of us and a January transfer window that we have worked tirelessly to prepare for, so let’s face our challenges head on and look forward to the second half of the season with optimism. Wishing everyone a healthy and Happy New Year. Amanda & Mehrdad -
I was more thinking of later next year, not next few weeks. Kind of hoping that it continues to weaken as it evolves, the newer vaccines are as good as they are hoping and anti vaxxers find it harder to do certain things leading to more of the population sorted. Alternatively it might morph into something far worse than we’ve had and we’ll be back to the dark ages. Fingers crossed 🤞

Aye, I’ve tried to avoid looking at it all too closely for a while as it’s so depressing. Saw another tweet tonight which suggests it’s going to get very bad very quickly Hope it’s wrong.
