I must admit I’m pretty Zen with relegation. 100% don’t want it to happen but don’t have the “fear” of it that I’ve had before. Virtually guaranteed to bounce back. Sure it might knock the 5-10 year plan back a year but it won’t be the end of the world. That game yesterday was such a change to what’s gone before and the way we should play every week. I think we will only get better and better as the players acclimatise to being so high up the pitch. Sprinkle a bit of January transfer magic on top and the results will sort themselves out as other teams go on shit runs. Welcome back football. We missed you.

Just don’t go home at half time
-
Well just got home and it was one of those games that that was great to watch if we were not so desperate for the 3 points. Joe was magnificent first half and delighted he got a goal. Couldn’t tell from the leases what happened when ASM put him through but I was sure it was going to be a goal. Darlow was horrific. Overall it was just fantastic to see us on the front foot again. It’s looking grim for relegation but who knows. A bit of tinkering with that line up and I fancy our chances against Norwich and Burnley.

I was a bit surprised on that True Faith podcast when the host, Alex, says he hopes we never play Sunderland again. The audience also seemed 50/50 on the likes of Caulkins opposite view that it would be ideal if both teams were successful (like Manchester). Whilst it’s been funny to see them get relegated and struggle, I’ve always loved derbys and the stomach churning nerves that come with them. My ideal would for us to be a league winning, champions league playing team and for them to basically be in the position we were 7 weeks ago. I thought all fans loved derby’s ?

Without stepping into the Shelvey wars, I do think if we are more attacking and more spread out, he will be ideal from an attacking point of view (until better is available). Hardly too surprising he’s been dogshit given our surrender style of play. Literally can’t wait for tomorrow.

Sneaky bugger caught me out with his early presser. I was still in that 2 hour true faith vid. Probably what Adam feels like when his mam forgets to wake him up.

Cheers for this. Only 30 minutes in but it’s a great watch. -
Honestly, I watched a YouTube podcast last night where Dan Hodges was interviewed about training under Howe and it was mouth watering stuff. Apparently everything in training is competitive and each day they have at least one session that results in “winners and losers”. The “winners” get their photo taken and end up on the wall along with a chart league table of the winners and losers. This starts on the first day of pre season and ends on the final day of the season. Doesnt matter whether it’s a full on training match or some routine involving 5 players. There must be winners and losers. Apparently one of the winners photos made it to social media this week. I’ll see if I can find it. So yes, gushing *might be this one

Hope you get to watch it

Smiling or a terrified grimace of the challenge ahead.

Needs to prove himself before he ousts Shane. (Actually, I sort of imagine that’s what you looked like as a trainee accountant). Eddie not Shane.
