been played too centrally and deep for all of his newcastle career. his best times at galatasary and inter were when he played on the left. has a bit of talent but not good enough for us/ consistent enough for us.... also his delivery from corners / free kicks was usually very poor...

gerrards the better footballer, lampards the better goalscorer. thats it for me.

They are identical, some motherboards support amd live but its not important as ( in real life) it does nowt... I use my pc for media production (audio editing and professional mastering of cd's etc) and its really not worth using. the intels whilst more expensive are better as well (especially at media production). i think whilst its useful, its also a bit fake. thus the fakebook acronym i use. i've met up with a few old friends whilst using it so it is useful.

with the players we have a our disposal, i doubt very much we'd be able to emulate the fantastic football of a few years ago. look at the players we have now and the team of the mid 90's, we effectively during that time had everyone playing great football, this team will play effective football looking at it as we have no playmaker (rob lee in the 90's) and although the defenders seem competent defensively and comfortable on the ball, we don't have a phillipe albert or john beresford to bomb forward (as nzogbia will probably play down the left when jose enrique comes through). also if we did play that kind of football we'd be losing games 3-2 not winning them 1-0 in this league... things have changed.

on last seasons form and this so far i'd put taylor int the 20k a week bracket. faye is not worth 30k a week.... the carragher reference makes me shudder, carraghers an excellent defender, taylor doesn't look any where near that class....

we've yet to play any really good teams, but i agree the defensive side of our game looks pretty good. would love more flair, but would also rather win!

with regard for taylor, this will either spur him on or he'll be reserve centre back, as long as he improves then it'll be for the good of the team. on current form cacapa and rozenhal are undroppable. they are the first choice by a country mile.

i'm all i favour of us rotating carr and babayaro out of the club...

i'd say every other game he's patchy... realistically he hasn't got the outright quality of a viduka or owen. which is why i'd put him on for the last 30 mins in a game. don't worry gemmil your dislike of martins is nothing compared to my absolute hatred of david beckham.

all i know is we are going to take 4 points off them this season.

of the 3 i'd start with owen and viduka, and have martins on as a sub. reason for that is against tired legs, martins could cause more mistakes by the opposition than the 2 slower but more intelligent players. we all know oba has been working his socks off, and that he does have talent considering the service he gets, but for me he's 3rd choice, despite 3 goals and 1 assist in the league. for the record both viduka and owen don't constantly cause a threat because both go missing for 70 minutes of a game making the runs (in owens case) or scoffing pies ( in viduka's case). martins is always there or thereabouts, but his touch and technique are lacking. just my opinion of course and not an irrational hatred like Gemmill...

what j69 said. makalele, like mauro silva/ redondo before him is the best defensive midfielder of his generation. viera was just a great midfielder.

trouble with smith is he offers nothing apart from hard work, he needs to be played further forward as i have yet to see players with a better first touch than him, just a shame about his other attributes.

the way this team is set up at the moment means it looks like we are set up to counter attack much more efficiently than previously, trouble with arsenal is they are winning games now by converting more of their chances. i'd hope for a draw there, the way both teams are playing.
