Now we know the squad, what is the best team
tinofbeans replied to jaythesouthernmag's topic in Newcastle Forum
what marci said. -
they'll get a decent forward in the transfer window , but the whole side looks average, maybe the clocks ticking on scholes and giggs and a few others. i hope they do really poorly this season.
-
rozenhal and cacapa are good enough footballers to play further forward. this instills confidence in the fullbacks as they are safe in the knowledge that they ( the 2 centre backs) are comfortable enough to give and receive possession of the ball.... it also allows us to dictate play and keep the ball far better ....

thats great news. used to love a wispa when i was younger. now its mainly pies.
-
2 more slow defenders (albeit from the past) norman hunter bobby moore forgot what else i was going to say!
-
who were we talking about again? why bother eh!
-
think we know that won't be the case craig. he's always been average at best.
-
midday finish tomorrow. off th newbury to get cunted... nice.
-
was an excellent player is still very good, but not the quickest over the ground. and a little on the elderly side of things. imho, one of the absolute best free kick takers i've ever seen.
-
from what i've seen of smith he doesn't actually know what his best position is. he is a good footballer but i think machester utd ruined him!
-
what ken said....
-
generally i think the police are so hamstrung (in a legal context / also with the amount of paperwork that it entails just to do one arrest for example...) that vigilante style behaviour will rise up. not for one moment would i beleive the police are going to get any better either.
-
one of the top 5 right fullbacks in europe going to villa.... that'll never happen...
-
awful news. lets hope he gets through this.
-
true enough, every time i've heard doherty sing he's sounded awful. he can't play any instrument with any ability and he's a crack heed. his friends are his dealer and that emaciated bike, kate moss.
-
he's a funny one this luccin, good but not great player, and if we are getting faye as well we'll be ok defensively. we do really need to prioritize a creative midfielder above this however... other wise we aren't going to score that many (especially at home).
-
Reckon we'll sign anyone good before the deadline???
tinofbeans replied to Asprilla's topic in Newcastle Forum
Not Glen Johnson though. He is cack. I thought he did well at Pompey last season... I think he is better than carr. aye glen johnson's good a think good going forward but can't tackle for toffee. has an ego problem as well. -
both are inexperienced. both have also been played out of position by the previous regime. personally, huntington is the better of the 2 in my opinion. don't think either will be used in the first team unless we are down to the bare bones however.

strange how so many here don't rate martins. i think he's a scorer of good goals and his pace should prove a threat. i've witnessed a better first touch on one of the shit forwards on our sunday league team.. at inter he was a supersub, and thats (long term) where i see him playing, once owen is fit and viduka starts playing well, then i think those 2 will have the starting berths upfront. just my $0.02

true enough pat. if i WANTED to listen to an awful dirge of noise, i'd definitely listen to the libertines.

four fold is crazy numbers.... how many in the uk are murdered by guns. my guess is less than 100 people a year. now that whilst fairly horrific, is actually not as bad as a lot of other countries. this particular item, is because an innocent kid has been killed. if it were a crack dealer then it wouldn't make the news. i know i'm stating the obvious but the country hasn't gone to shit, its the media/ tabloids fascination with creating a state of paranoia. again just my $0.02...

Owen: I'm not ready for the knackers yard yet
tinofbeans replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Not sure that's a very valid comparison, considering the massive difference in their respective games, and the fact that we don't know whether Owen has been compromised in any way by the injury. he says himself he's lost a yard of pace. owen used to work the channels and scare defenders shitless with his pace. he's sill a top goal scorer but his game is more one dimensional now because his movement isn't as good as it once was. i think shearer was the same after his first year for when he picked up a bad injury. i remember him taking on players and beating men out wide when he played for blackburn and during his first season for us but he had to adapt his game for the majority of his time with us and we adapted our game to suit his strengths. i think it's worth it with both players because they both guarantee goals. but i wonder whether you should sacrifice those goals for a more expansive overall game. his movement woud surely have to be better now than before because of his so called lack of pace? i think he's still relatively fast but hasn't got explosive power for changes of pace. he was at liverpool a 11 second 100m runner. i'm betting its closer to 11.5 now, which really means that he should be ok if he remains injury free. also with sam and the improved medical facilities at his disposal, we'll be looking at getting him fitter and better prepared than previously. i personally don't think we should build a side around him. he only really scores goals and contributes nothing to team play. just my $0.02 -
rumor has it that the sales of the lexus dropped like a stone in the uk after that program.

My bro's got one, he fucking hates it, had tons of bother with it as has one of his colleagues with the same model. BMW for me, I've put 140,000 miles on my 523 and only on the third set of tires and first set of replacement break pads and shoes. Edit - it's crap in snow/ice tho blimey, i've had nothing but good reports of of people that have one. i've got a mate with one and he's had no bother.
