  1. RIP. politics - the second oldest profession, some think nowadays its similar to the oldest...
  2. and an iphone 3gs 32gb. and a couple of north face thin fleeces. I'm now skint!.
  3. so we are going puma in the summer then. oh well....
  4. too fragile too make it into his 30's (in terms of being effective, that is). too greedy. too selfish. too one dimensional. past it since 28....
  5. no shit, he's a fucking awful ventriloquist as well.
  6. Can't beleive that. I reckon we'll have dropped out of the top 30 this year easily. still, 101 mil ain't bad, but then you look at the wage bill, and how badly the club is run etc etc.....

no one player we have playing for us in my opinion is good enough for a top half premiership side (even Enrique) . it's a damning verdict of the players we have but, I beleive it to be truthful. next season is about consolidation. nothing more than that unless we find a whole team on the cheap.
  8. it was a case of the lad literally planting his foot on the floor and shawcross took the ball. the energy from the impact all went through one point. it wasn't even a red card.... gotta feel sorry for the kid.
  9. Hardly a wind up. Facts are facts, though I have severe doubts about him at a higher level. Was martin Jols assistant when he got spurs up to 5th though so there is some value in his coaching methods perhaps…. I think he'll be a billy davies esque coach/ manager.... gets a team up then gets fired!
  10. some interesting views there pud. if we get into the premiership, i'd expect the fat bloke to relax these rules somewhat. i reckon teams like stoke ( who are vastly underrated) would be employing similar rulings. take ryan shawcross, as an example, he's young, hungry, not on great wages but they know when the big guns come along, that he'll be off and they can get decent money for him. we'd have to do that for a couple of seasons with our more saleable assets, i beleive. this of course raises another point, survivability in the premiership. well i for one beleive this side is absolutely nowhere near good enough. its a very tricky balancing act, which from our most recent "golden patch" i beleive we've got very very wrong.
  11. too right. a pair of playmakers are required. knowing our injury record you'd need a backup.
  12. Utter tosh IMO - it's just a fucking number. You don't have to be any better to wear the #9 shirt as you do the #23! It's attitudes like that which create the ridiculous stigma about the shirt. nope. its my opinion craig. a fucking number but for me the no 9 shirt should go to the best centre forward we have on our books. unfortunately we don't in my opinion have one that is consistent or will punch their weight or above at this or a higher level. theres no stigma, because those of use who remember football before sky and squad numbers remember that certain numbers always had a place in the hearts of fans. why does ( for example) ibrahimovic or et'oo get the number 9 at the 2 biggest clubs in their countries?
  13. all the same. pretty amazing stuff. thought ferdinand was absolutely unplayable in most of his matches for us. great player, shame as his partnership with shearer was genuinely world class.
  14. thats really misleading. owens strike rates based on starts is still pretty phenomenal. fact is he hasn't been the same player for 4 years is neither here nor there..
  15. coles strike rate was phenomenal. only one of those seasons was in the top flight though....
  16. none of the current squad are anywhere near good enough to wear it....
  17. isn't an orthodox central midfielder. slow, one footed and not very creative but does get into goalscoring positions. nowhere near good enough for the premier league in my opinion. best played at the front of a midfield diamond.
  18. getting back on track, how bad is the injury. without taylor we don't have a biggish centre back. if i were running the board i'd get davies in. he's too good for the championship, but thats exactly what we need. maybe a permanent deal should be on the cards for him as well....?
  19. i don't think on current form we'll win the championship. I'd like to be proven wrong of course.
  20. bartons more mobile and passes the ball better and gets up and back better than nolan. when fit of course.. he's no holding player.
  21. I kind of agree with that statement, but xavi is also an excellent free kick expert and plays deeper than gerrard. his ability to keep possesion and change the tempo of the game are pretty spectacular. however in a side with limited players such as bolton ( for example) he'd have a lot more work to do. he'd improve the side but to what extent i'm not sure.... i do not by any way think gerrard is the best midfielder in the world but he holds several key attributes for liverpoo and england. he can play all of the midfield positions, and as a second forward. he's possibly one of the most instinctive footballers i've ever seen.... in terms of being in the right place at the right time to score or pass.... at the very highest level... its just such a shame he's a cheating diver.
