  1. we've invested in some shite though. proper crap. all overpaid as well. thats the reason... that and the fact the decent managers haven't been backed properly. mnd you in reality since 04 we haven't had a decent manager.
  2. hate to say it but you'd be pissing it away..... just my opinion of course and i want gzza well, as much as all of you. i;d love to be proven wrong but the lads a lost cause.
  3. Winner. seriously though the complete lack of nous in the transfer market (giving players high wages for underperforming, for example), means that we have fucked up big time. 40k a week with reasonable bonuses for doing what players should do, pretty much as stevie said ( i.e. forwards and midfielders get goal bonuses, defenders get clean sheet bonuses etc etc). we all know the location to some of the more continental and or london based players is perhaps a bit bemusing so care should be taken not to alienate them. and to point them in the direction of a barbers. the board do need replacing but we need to be very careful. if ashley goes he'll take every penny he can get his fat hands on, and (i beleive) could still be the absolute ruin for this club for the next 5 years...
  4. she comes across as someone that was destined not to be known as anyone with a semblance of talent ( like her sis) but for some reason is known globally. strange how the x factor judges have about as much vocal talent as stephen hawkins when his batteries run out. ..... she's still fit despite the assymetric tits and the startled face however.
  5. true enough. but, our decent players over the last few seasons ( and i can count them on one finger) have all been ground down and worn out, whether by fan related insults (or not wanting to be here) or training facility related injury, or indeed just poor coaching. we've never since SBR and steve clarke, had a top 2 ( manager and head coach) that have improved our players.
  6. Arsenal are the ONLY big club in London, the same as we're the only big club in the North East. Couldn't agree more.
  7. thats the one. when he was on loan at villa first time round he was good as well. not ( in my opinion) a coincidence.
  8. Amazing what a decent manager does to a player.... if we'd had oneill as head coach about 2-3 years ago we'd have been in a much better place.... 4. James Milner is becoming a top-class player Most players move imperceptibly through the career gears – average to good to very good to great – but occasionally a player's ascent is tangible. James Milner is in such a phase. He has clearly gone up a notch this season, and his range of skills is greater than any other winger in England. He is a pure footballer, an excellent crosser from open play or dead-ball situations, a subtle dribbler, an indefatigable worker, a humble team man, and versatile enough to play on both flanks or even in the centre. The fact that he is not genuinely fast will probably stop him getting a place in England's first XI at the World Cup – the right wing is the only obvious place where Fabio Capello can get blistering pace in his attacking sextet, and he is not going to displace Steven Gerrard on the left – but his versatility and quality should earn him a squad place. And at 23, he has scope for even more improvement Full article http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/...-premier-league
  9. Threats must be something else he's not very good at then. He can publicly drown himself hopefully. fyp.
  10. I know he plays for the enemy ( as it were) but on my reckoning he's been one of the best midfielders at spoiling.... in the premiership this season... looks like he'll be out for 12 weeks. without him driving them forward, i reckon they'll struggle. i know he's an ex boro player, but he has been good, and i'd have taken him over butt last season.
  11. Domenech's decision making is getting more and more eccentric though. he's pretty much completely lost the dressing room. the french players, not neccasarily the team, are far better man for man. i do hope the irish win however.
  12. Kind of understand where you are coming from but, really we need investment. He definitely will not give it, nor ( probably) will moat. i reckon his consortium is a farce. the only way anything will change is if we get promoted. hopefully Ashley will sell. then fuck off. if not i can see us yoyo-ing between championship and premiership. or worse than that, fading into mid table championship obscurity.
  13. i think we are one of 6 teams, that theoretically ( injuries and form permitting) can go all the way in the next world cup. brazil are my favourites, then spain. if we are to get to the final after another tiring season, everyone will have to be playing at their maximum. i reckon we still need a world class keeper and a partner for terry at the back that doesn't keep fucking up. also right back is a slight weakness. johnsons great going forward.... but we need a more defensively minded alternative to help close games out...
  14. definitely not good enough. simple as that. fosters been awful but i reckon thats nerves, and knowing when van der sar gets back he'll be rightfully demoted back to reserve....
  15. heh! so back to the matter in hand ( so to speak). from my leeds supporting friends, it seems that wise was just a figurehead in terms of manager. seems poyet had the brains.... works out he is really a thick trollish twot of the highest order...
  16. Yes you are, but you are inconsequential. If someone writes something about me talking shite, I take on board and say aye he might have a point that kid not you. No major problem with you just don't talk baseless shit. Incredibly enough a friend of mine just last night said people who call people "fella" are generally cunts. One of my in laws does and he's a cunt so I thought that was pretty spot on, and this just reaffirms this. Near enough though. You're right he won't give a shit about what you think, and you're entitled to say he's a shit actor that's your opinion. You are yet to give any evidence of him being wannabe egotistical hard man, and you've just pottered round that in this ridiculous post, like Peter Beardsley round the Aston Villa defence in 1995 without the same end product. I don't even know why you post Fish seriously, I don't think you have any opinions. I call people fella, does that make me a cunt? I doubt it. its just another (abeit fairly common as muck) salutation.
  17. think the nearest thing to that system nowadays is the barcelona one. henry moans alot about it as the left sided forward (though of course right footed) but its his and messi's ability to stop the full backs playing forward that restricts their oponents. that and the fact you can't get the ball off of their entire team!
  18. talking of indian owners, any of this lot'd do: http://www.knowledgebase-script.com/demo/article-170.html
  19. he always had a superiority complex, did Cruyff. he could play every position pretty well because of his speed, touch and all round ability. agree the sentiments about those 2 players from the previous post btw...
  20. Looks like a desperate attempt to get a phone that's as close to being an iPhone without appearing to backtrack after repeatedly slagging it off. If the Iphone was reasonably priced id give it a bash. You got no hope of me paying cash for a handset and tying myself to a £35pm contract because apple have swindled the general public with an exclusivity deal Iphone to be available on orange and vodafone in the next couplea months as well as o2. i'd go vodafone.
  21. seems to have great vision. wonder what the odds are on him scoring 20 in the championshp are?
  22. i'm talking about technical ability. sadly doesn't do the hard work he needs to nowadays.
  23. Not according to Adobe - Adobe open iPhone to Flash Devs Aye but Apple still aren't making it available for use in Safari as far as I know. they absolutely need to....
  24. currently, he's also our most talented midfielder. not that that is anything to crow about.
