  1. Either we stay up or drop down to the championship. if we stay up, would shearer stay, would our best players stay. same with if we go down. i don't see owen and a few others sticking around. Discuss..... my personal opinion is that if we stay up, and shearer stays, we'll get in some fresh faces and get rid of the dead wood or players that aren't good enough. i hope our management team have a plan. but i think they don't. in fact i'd go as far as saying that they are really fucking clueless. if we go down the rest of the premier league will be over us like jackals over a dead animal carcass. i really think we are in trouble.
  2. its ashley. he's useless. end of story.
  3. i just hope shearer has the efeect we need against the lesser teams. if not we are genuinely fecked. mine were, us boro and wba to go down. whats with attain and stevie, don't they know this is a message board....?
  4. proper goal that like. very good. and the eduardo one.
  5. we do indeed. kick and rush is so 1950's.
  6. frankly what we need to do is scout players that are young and have tachnical ability, speed and stamina for the positions they play in. currently our central midfield is the absolute core of the problem. ball retention and use of the wide players correctly is what we need to do. i agree about the scandinavians as well. get scouting and (if shearer stays) we will have a manager that most players would look up to. one thing i did notice on bobby robsons recent thread, is that the dynamic players (the runners if you will) are all but missing for us.
  7. he's not a bad player when things go for him but i think he needs to be led. the biggest problem as i see it is the defence has no natural leader. his lack of pace and his ability to drop off (i.e. sweep) are assets that actually don't suit our league because space in front of the defence is at a premium, and he falls short in that respect. the best partnership i've seen is him and bassong this season through the middle. thats saying something because really neither are that good (with the caveat that bassong is ever improving). agree with the comments about beye as well. quality right back. ryan taylor is not fit to lace his boots up.
  8. where to begin, well this will do it i guess. owen. nowhere near good enough. martins. not effective in a partnership with owen, lacks quality. butt. too slow, passing game is shit , can't drive the team forward from the base of midfield. collocini. clearly lacking confidence and mobility, played right into chelseas hands by marking one of the faster players on their team and fucking up in front of him! Nolan. simply not good enough. can't run things if you can't pass the ball well enough. gutiirriez. hmmmn a winger that can't cross, often can beat his man, but he WILL be in for crossing training next week. duff. his favourite colour is yellow. his favourite food is custard. gutless wonder.....
  9. yeah, well its not so bad. might have to relocate temporarily. first time its happened, so thats life i guess. The stressy thing about it is that i was in charge of a unit that actually worked rather than some of the twats we had at our place. still, thats life. thanks y'all!
  10. Hi folks i'm redundant from my job as of today.... great eh.
  11. some might say, too little too late. shearer can't splash the cash (yet), but interestingly enough when he was assistant coach or whatever with glenn roeder whe we came 7th, it was probably him instilling the troops with the beleif we could go out there and beat most teams. we did for the most part but were way weaker than we are now defensively and because of him i have a bit of optimism about the coming season if we keep the good players and weed out the shite and overplaid nonces that put on our shirt. I see us drawing against chelsea, with a bit of luck this weekend. I hope this is the start of something better than we've been subjected to in the last couple of years.
  12. very clever man, very good comic. got his 41st best dvd for xmas and thats a very good release.
  13. barton gets about the field more than either of the 2 mentioned players. his passing is better. he's more mobile. all of this depends upon whether he's match fit of course. which he hasn't been for most of the time he's been here.
  14. i've seen them in tesco's before, as thats my local branch. you should hear her talk. absurd person who is worse than a pikey.
  15. truly a great player. like all great strikers he makes time for himself with ease. even after several knee ops he's still fairly quick.
  16. micheal owen for a championship striker......
  17. farcical. still think my milk float idea would be quality.
  18. think initially it'll be an unpredictable season, but the monied teams will always come to the fore. even with his car off the pace at the mo, i reckon hamilton will get a top 3 position at the end of the year.
  19. Whelan is accurate about Mike Ashley though, all he has ever done is trash whichever market he’s in and caused thousands of job losses. they are both as bad as each other.
  20. depends though if we keep any major part of our squad together. out of the current first team i reckon only harper, beye, taylor (both) and maybe duff would stick around. we needed some cheapies or free transfers in january then we'd be out of the mire. as it is, i see it getting worse and worse. owen coyle seems to know what he's doing at chamionship level(and they (burnley) punched well above their weight in the cups...., and we'd play better football. this does rather depend on us not cocking it all up this season however, i think we'd be safe, but don't want to go through another season like this. ever again.
  21. Give a player that scores goals no service and what do you get. a player that gets depressed with his surroundings. years of injuries on a body that can't take it anymore have taken their toll. never worth his wages by the way. but the best player we have. not for long i fear.
