been played out of position or in really bad teams since he left us. if derby gave him a free role thy could get the best out of him, if he's interested. oh and in my opinion whilst not as good a dribbler as ginola he was a far better creative player. one season he was involved in 40 goals (scored 11 and created 29) for us. that says a lot about him when he could be bothered.

being an old fashioned playmaker, you don't need it in my position. pretty much every where else you do though. especially full back, wide and through the middle up front. without decent technique (martins for example), outright pace is often wasted.

fair play to beckham for actually getting off his arse and training, they might get his methods of crossing and pass it on to walcott or one of their other wingers.... then the rest of the league would be in trouble! the other thing about arsenals players is they are a hell of a lot fitter than most and this could be used by beckham to keep his career going for a short while longer.

martins is an enigma to me. he has excellent speed over the ground, a very hard shot with either foot, and a decent (if not great) heading technique. he takes a lot of the more difficult chances in front of goal, but for some reason doesn't put the easier ones away. his basic technique from what i have seen is only ok however. also his movement is erm how do i say, erratic. he often plays as if he has indecision clouding his judgement in actually pretty much any of his games i've seen, kind of like a player that has been allowed to play using the talents he has without actually receiving training on his weaknesses... the lad currently rightly or wrongly is our most dangerous player upfront because unlike owen and viduka, he can be bothered.

whilst i do't like the fact we've paid however much a week for a crock, it does make me think that if he got a run of games he could get back to something approaching his best, but is in no way worth his salary. or the fee we paid.

he's a good destroyer in the middle of the park but his touch and passing are worse than butts (which, whilst ok are nothing special). best holding player in the premiership this season for me is mascherano. doubt we could afford him though.

play him holding at home and pair him up with barton away.... only trouble with that is there is virtually zero creativity between the pair of them!

good point Jimbo, however with allardyce i have a feeling that people know he prefers "efficient" or "direct" football. sanchez shouldn't have got rid of diop, or that other thug that played through the middle. they also have too many championship players ( healy and kamara).
