The best and worst of recent comedy shows
luckyluke replied to Django Reinhardt's topic in General Chat
You're not alone. God knows how they managed to stretch it to three series. I got a book of scripts for Christmas, took it back first chance I got! Shameless is brilliant, but does that count as drama or comedy or both? -
If the Citeh player hadn't jumped he could have had his leg broken, and there would be no debate at all. It is wrong to base a player's punishment on their victim's ability (or lack of) to get out of the way - Ronaldo was sent off for what HE did.
-
I'll play at centre back if there are no other takers. I've hardly played since I've been at uni though, so think more Bramble than Albert.

One red tracksuited poster to give a shout out to all lightbulbs listening.

Agree 100%. The Man City player failed to cause any lasting damage to the twat and thus fully deserved his booking.
-
One poster to comment on Craig Bellamy's lightbulb of choice. (Guess who! )

I thought the sending off of the Boro player yesterday was pretty stupid - Arsenal were 6-0 up I think, and he was sent off for the slightest tug of a shirt for his second yellow. The ref should have used his common sense, but I think the FA have ruled that illegal too.

I've just been watching the second series of Peep Show. It's fantastic, but like the Office if I watch too many episodes at once I start feeling suicidal. -
It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. Should you ever be unfortunate to be involved in car accident, say you sneezed and you were thus forced to close your eyes. It counts as an 'act of god'.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

The March of The Penguins. Good, but lacking a car chase and tacked on romantic subplot tbh. -
<<<<< speechless >>>>>>>>> 79408 Are you taking the piss? I've mentioned it several times on this board that I thought this was the case regarding Souness attitude to Robert and Bellamy. 79409 I said I wasn't taking the piss....... if you have said this Ok, but the only noticeable poster, to me, thats said what I have said about Souness and Bellamy from day 1 is Renton 79416 ? 79421 ?? 79423 ????

I've heard USA's Independence Day and France's Bastille Day quoted as examples of what 'British Day' could be like. Which is well and good but these celebrations are of particular events (namely the country rising up as one to eject their nasty oppressors), which have subsequently become occasions to celebrate national pride. As we have no such event, creating the holiday for the sake of it falls a little flat IMO. I suppose the fact we haven't had to rise up against oppressing rulers is something we could celebrate, but it's not as half as satisfying. If Guy Fawkes & co had actually suceeded we could have used bonfire night, but we'll have to wait for a proper revolution if we want a proper national holiday.

I have been saying exactly that since the moment we bought them both though, was slaughtered in the pub for saying it... 79360 I've been slaughtered in a pub many a time 79363 I'd happily slaughter Souness anywhere. Pub, club, bar, battlefield, name a place and I'll name my fee.

Why does the News of The World undercover reporter always disguise themselves as a rich arab?
-
Emre can 'play' left wing as can Ameobi.

You forgot Alan Shearer is a warrior, a knight, a caped crusader etc.
-
He really puts the ghost in ghostwriter if that's the case tbh.

Cheers guys, nice of you to remember. After the drunken mess of last year's birthday tonight is going to be (relatively) civilised, my parents are taking me and my friends out for a meal. I've had a day off today which makes it extra special.

Should check the birthday thread at the top of the page...

Divine-Righters demand to be honoured
luckyluke replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
So there's no better achievement in cricket than winning a two horse race. Just about sums the "sport" up. 78613 Test Cricket is the game played at its highest level. The ICC Test Championship has results used to formulate it that go back several years (when teams were made of different players) it cannot be used to judge the merits of an individual team. There's no better achivement than beating the best team in the world, one of the best teams EVER at cricket. Plus there's the fact we hadn't won it for 19 years I think before last summer. -

Collingwood did indeed get one, not bad for 17 runs and a catch! I don't see the problem with the cricketers getting them, the World Cup team of 66 all got honours, and there is no better achievement in cricket than winning the Ashes. -
Have you ever seen a girl throw something far enough to injure someone, let alone kill? 78310 I was the best spin bowler my school ever had I will let you know.... I could knock a gnats gonad off with one eye shut !!! 78317 Fearsome, I bet the keeper stood back on the boundary when you were bowling then.

I don't want our coaching staff to be some kind of old boys club, I'd rather have competent coaches tbh.
