Update from the meeting last night. It was, an interesting one to say the least We had representatives from the Football Supporters Federation discuss the merits of being a member and as a result the NUSC will be represented at the next meeting. We are also looking with them at things such as using their legal people for certain things etc). Then we had Peter Lee join us, yes him of the the 300,000 fans each paying a grand. Originally we had dismissed his plan as not being workable but in this new "review what we do" and the like we agreed to have him along. Im sorry like (and this is just my personal view but what a loon "We have enough money from backers now to buy the club and invest in players......but we dont want to as that wouldnt be the right time" or such wonderous statements as "you wouldnt believe the people backing this, theres a top thingy and an owner of a major newspaper but I cant tell you who they are". "I have 3, no 4 actually make it 5 different ways we can do this, some of which havent even been thought of yet". He then guaranteed, yes guaranteed to buy a seat on the board even if a rich arab came along and bought the place, when asked on how he could make that guarantee he literally did one of those comedy touch your nose and wink (a la Kenny Snr Phoenix Nights ) before saying "we have ways". One thing he did say though that was backed up by the club in a seperate meeting with the fans forum earlier last night was that there were no bids currently on the table so if the statement about how the sale is progressing well is correct then be afraid. And finally onto us, the NUSC, representation was made as to what the hell we're doing, discussions around the fact of the statements and about getting this back on track and listening to the fans. As a result we're working our arses off on getting all the stuff in place for membership, full rules organised and publicised and I am pleased to announce our first members meeting will be held on Wednesday the 29th October at the Irish Club again. If you arent a member then you will be able to join up on the night. This will be the 1st chance everyone has to put their points forward, let us know what direction we should be taking and tell us where we've gone wrong so far. And that was it, 3 and a half hours long and a ton of work to do afterwards But you're worth it *laughs tippetytoe

I BADLY want the NUSC to work because it's for the good of all of us. Unfortunately I think they have jumped the gun. They are not a media/press outlet and as such do not need to respond to every minute detail of news coming from SJP. They need a well-written but forceful manifesto and a detailed description of their plans for the £10. If they had that I'd suggest there'd be hardly a Mag in Tyneside who would refuse them the tenner. Agreed, and Ewerk I have done that elsewhere in this thread (I think )

All of a sudden my Media Centre has lost the sound from Live TV (and when I record TV). Its not the speaker setup or anything as music and video all work fine purely the TV side of things. Ive checked and double checked the aerial but nothing out of place there. Strage thing is the sound when the centre opens doesnt happen anymore either. Any ideas anyone?

Baggio believe it or not though I actually agree with what you are saying, that was what the NUSC was in my view when I agreed to work on it. What I feel has happened is we have started to get ahead of ourselves and become too much protest orientated too quickly. I am looking for this to get back on track and quickly but to do that I need to know what the best course of action is, we cant do a load of things at once and we cant ever expect to get the bulk of fans onboard again within a week or so but we do need to start. That is why Im looking for one thing that if we did it on Tuesday you would think "finally, they've actually done something right" For instance my answer is a simple straight forward one, I think we need to apologise. The NUSC needs to state that it is sorry for getting carried away and running with something that isnt in its remit, it acknowledges the fact that it has acted without madate and without obtaining the views of the fans (other than the original meeting). That, I think, is what is needed early next week to make people think that there is a chance this will work. Then we need to do all the other things, organise the recruitment, talk about development, open lines of communication etc Oh and HTT, welcome back mate

You had me wondering there but the way I read it is they are telling readers of their site about the NUSC, its not down on their site as a press release from savenewcastle. They are not part of, or linked to the nusc in any way. They may get the backing (if we sort ourselves out first) but its not currently seen as a credible answer to the problem.

Im looking for a good online game to get into, I enjoy first person shoot em ups and strategy stuff. Any recommendations?
