BBC and Telegraph still running with it... -
Because no fucker is going to by the 2nd one...
-
If it speeds the sale in any way, surely you'd take this sale and another 5 or 6 like it? Thats a fucking massive "IF"...
-
SSN saying a figure of 8m...
-
To be fair if Peasepud does takeover at least the NUSC will finally have a foot in the door...
-
Colo and Taylor now our only "experienced" centre halfs, though if anyone comes in for them (which I could see happening) lets be honest we know the fat man will take the cash. Can't wait to watch Kadar and Tozer at the centre of our defence next season..

Toon bid hopefuls backed by New York firm

With the start of the new Championship season looming, Telegraph Sport can disclose that Moat was in London on Wednesday night holding talks with representatives from investment bank Seymour Pierce, who are handling the sale on Ashley's behalf. Talks are expected to continue on Thursday. Sources said that while a deal had not yet been concluded, the negotiations with Moat represented the best "exit strategy" for Ashley, who is facing losses of at least £100 million. If a deal can be agreed the formal takeover could take several weeks to complete, but crucially it would allow the club to prepare for the new season with some certainty. Ashley has set an informal deadline of the end of this week for the takeover, but has approached Joe Kinnear about returning as manager should the deal fall through. Should Moat succeed, he is likely to approach Shearer to return to the manager's chair two months after he vacated having failed to keep the club in the Premier League. Under the terms of the proposed deal Moat would put in £50 million of his own money and bring in a further £50 million of outside investment to meet Ashley's asking price. The source of the external investment remains uncertain, but Moat is understood to be confident that he can secure bank or private equity finance to make up the shortfall. Moat has mapped out a vision for the revival of the club based around a new management team, and is hopeful that investors will buy into the prospect of a swift return to the Premier League. Due diligence on the club's books has been carried out by corporate lawyer Timothy Smalley. Moat has been linked with a possible takeover of the club in the past. A millionaire with diverse business interests across the North East, he has significant property holdings and a development portfolio. He is a director of several telecoms companies offering cheap internet-based call services. Should he succeed in pulling off the deal he is likely to be popular with supporters who crave a local owner to take the club forward. Despite clearing most of Newcastle's historic debt when he took over, Ashley's apparent disregard for the club's heritage and the reckless decision-making that contributed to relegation have won him only enemies on Tyneside. Locally owned and with Shearer at the helm, the club would gain important momentum as they attempt to win promotion at the first attempt. A swift return to the Premier League would help alleviate the dire financial consequences of relegation. Newcastle's wage bill stands at more than £65 million, and with Championship revenues likely to be little more than £40 million, the outlook is sobering. Agency First Artists has a mandate from Ashley to offload the highest wage-earners, and at the weekend they secured the sale of Obafemi Martins to Wolfsburg, bringing in €10 million (£8.5 million) and knocking up to £3 million off the wage bill. Further sales will follow, with Sebastien Bassong likely to depart in the coming days for around £9 million and other well-paid players expected to follow -

Gem, I share your sentiments. I have never been more fed up of football as I am at this present time. Its been declining for me for the last few years I would say, probably since around 2007. This ongoing farce however, has really turned me right off. With the ridiculous goings on at our club, and the silly money summer going on elsewhere I just think football as a competition is finished. The governing bodies need to get a grip before it implodes. I check on here everyday to see if there has been any movement in the sale but aside from that I dont really feel compelled to comment on team affairs any longer. Aye, I think I am regretting not cancelling my ticket when I had the chance. Paying the money for the season ticket, trains, hotels, money for scran and even just a few drinks I end up spending at least a couple of grand. I am fed up with it all and have been played like a mug by these crooks in charge of the club. I can't believe the season starts in a few days and in all honesty I dont really give a shit...they and the modern game and everything that is wrong with it is slowly killing any love for the game I had... -
Well someones fucking lying. Hard to know which one though as they are both full of shit...
-
Fuck this, can we still chuck our season tickets...

O2 simplicty contract with 800 minutes and 1600 texts + 1 add on (I can get the Blackberry add on which normally costs £10) for £20 a month for 12 months. Quidco are giving you £100 back so basically £140 for 12 months for that or £35 a month for the Iphone 3GS and whatever it is for the handset (185 for 16gb on 18 months I think?). Whilst I would like an iphone I am struggling to justify to myself £815 (?) for an iphone when I could easily get the sim deal and keep my Blackberry Bold which I really do like.
-
Phoned up and cancelled mine no problem. Now to decide if I should unlock my Blackberry Bold and get an O2 simplicty sim card or get an iphone...

£10m bid for Bassong from Spurs turned down.

Sorry I was going on the fact that we all ready had Kadar playing there. Taylor I think Taylor will do well in the Championship Aye me too, I was just confused when Khay said we didn't have a CB other than Tozer, when I could think of two, including a pretty permanent fixture of the 1st team last year. With the centre half merry go round at the moment Taylor will be the next one to get linked with a move away. Whilst he claims he wants to stay if the Ashley is still in charge I don't doube he would cash in on Taylor in a minute especially seeing as he is English and will no doubt carry an over inflated price tag. We'll be lucky to start the season with only Tozer and Kadar tbh... -

Big risk to take if that was the case what with the amount of debt we are in. Also hes only had 1 year and whilst I think 10 million for us is craxy money I would expect them to go for a more experienced player... -
