Today I am starting to panic!!!
Scottish Mag replied to Kevin Carr's Gloves's topic in Newcastle Forum
I cannot wait until the transfer window closes then perhaps we can just get behind the team and focus on the season ahead. After the past 3 results the forums have been full of optimism and quite rightly so IMO but give it until the next morning and there are many people pushing the panic button “OMG WTF!!!! We have not signed no 1!!!!” We have bid for the likes of Woodgate, Aimar and Modric and if rumours are to be believed have shown an interest in the likes of Gomis, Turan, Inler, Warnock etc. And with the way the club has been conducting their transfers this season, who really knows what other players we have attempted to sign. So these transfers haven’t come off, what else can the club do? Yes we can all see that by adding a couple of quality players we could have the start of a half decent side but in reality no one knows just how hard they are working behind the scene to ensure they make those additions and what an impact the likes of having no European football and our recent finishes are having... Yes I will be disappointed if we do not sign anyone else however look at the positives. We are finally playing some decent football again, (whilst its early days) we have added what appears to be 4 good players without spending an obscene amount of money. We are investing in our youth set up and scouting network ensuring that we are planning for the long term as well as the immediate future and of course this is all being led by the enthusiasm of Kevin Keegan. Keep the faith lads... -
First all the strikers get crocked now the back ups are jumping ship...Harper to start up front on Saturday if Owen isn't ready for 90 minutes?

Tell MON we want silly money or Barry or he can fuck off. The money they have been throwing about on the likes of Cueller, Davies, Petrov and Reo Coker over the last couple of years says we should demand an inflated fee for him...

Whilst I am far from his biggest fan I am pretty pissed off he has waited until now. It forces our hand to sell rather than having an unhappy player on our books and with very little time to find a replacement. If he really wanted to go why has he waited until now to hand in his request.

I thought you got one of those a while ago? No? Are you thinking of the music streamer? -

To be fair all bar one poster mentioned about the shirt throwing and the rest where commenting on their opinion of how highly they rate him as a player. You could argue the opposite of what you are saying and question just because he is committed, shirt throwing etc why should he be exempt of any criticisms on his ability? Its all about opinions and it has been perfectly acceptable to slag off practically every centre half (in fact probably every player at some point in time) why should it be any different when it comes to Taylor?

Really, you like them? We would never have guessed. I am surprised you haven't brought the old board into it yet you must admit, it gives it a bit of spice Just like your curries...

Exactly, it's like people thinking Gravesen is some tough-tackling DM because he looks like a hardcase. I don't get this obsession with a specialist DM anyway though. It's just a trendy position* which very few clubs actually employ to good effect anyway. *Amongst fans/pundits etc. that is. Eggsactly. Last time we had a decent side the central midfield usually consisted of Speed, Dyer or JJ. None of them were defensive midfielders...

One of my dodgy knees went last night. Could be an interesting few weeks...

Aye because coming out of Uni and selling double glazing windows is soooo much fun.....

Definitely North of the Tyne, as they have made their way to Scotland

I have nothing against you Steve, the only person you have a net row with seems to be LM. However, if my dad was from North Shields, I'd loosely consider my blood to be geordie, even though you've been born in Australia, it's clear you're ashamed of that country and who wouldn't be? So you have as much rights to tickets as anyone.

At this rate most people will still be at the box office trying to sort out their tickets at 2.10 never mind getting a free beer...

I think you lot have made more of it to be fair, or your sports minister has. We're just enjoying doing well for a change. Probably but that's not quite what I meant, I meant I've never understood why GB doesn't kick Australia's arse at each games just going on population differences, so it's about time. I'm ambivilant about the whole Ashes rivalry, unless I'm giving grief to an english mate. Personally I'm not a fan of the Olympics (I spend all my energy and support on football) and I hate how Australia chucks so much money at it's team producing twats like Thorpie, etc. If they spent half as much on the arts we might find this country has a little more culture than "football (AFL/league), meat pies, kangaroos and holden cars", fuck me stevie is right! There's your answer. UK sports funding is diabolical (it's better currently with the lottery, and because of 2012, but still pretty bad, especially in general facilities). Also when you look at the UK population as a whole it gets even worse, something like 4 out of 5 UK women do no effective exercise after leaving school (and these days even in school there isn't the mandatory sports there once was - or often the sports fields as they've been sold off for housing). That is a problem within itself. Yes there is funding available but the majority of it will be thrown into 2012 and the 2014 Commomwealth Games in Glasgow rather than at grass roots and other levels, For 2014 we had to endure a huge campaign encouraging the whole country to get behind the bid when in reality it is going to result in a fair bit invested in Glasgow but shall be subsidised from other areas and those areas and the facilities etc will suffer...

Ally McCoist (allegedly) has...

Unless of course they're from the south side of the Tyne, right? Well that would only leave Jock toon fans other than geordies... You've got to take your hats off to some of our OOT's who despite the long distances involved, they spend a lot of money following the club...the likes of Scottish Mag, Parky etc.. Soopafan!!!

So going by your logic, what about the people that aren't from newcastle who have season tickets and plough money into the club? Do they get to worry about financial issues? And who gets the right to "worry" more? Those from outwith the area who spend money on the club or those locals who the have no choice but to support the club but spend fuck all on the club or anything related to the club?
