  1. If level of spending is the sole measure of ambition then we should all take our hats off to Rangers and their efforts!! If there is any justice then they should win champions league next year! What is the net spend if you remove the INSANE £35 million for Carroll??? how does the 4 year period you have imposed look then?? Interesting to know that in 19 years Arsenal have a net spend of around £20 million.... wow!! I for one could not give a flying fuck how much the net spend is, I gauge success in the transfer market by how much improvement i can see in the team/squad/club. Given that mistakes have been made, i think the improvement in the team is a mark of how a different approach is (at this moment in time,) getting results and improving the club. If we improve the team and squad AND somehow make some money on transfers, how can that be a bad thing?? Granted i'd like to see the money reinvested, BUT I am showing some faith in the policy of getting value in transfers. Yes, Ashley will not spunk 5 years worth of sponsorship on one player, but how is that wrong, given that the previous approach won us fuck all!! this this and this! It doesnt matter how much we spend on a player. As NUFC fans we should know that, it matters about who we bring in and recently we have brought in some great players! and sold some great! players and withheld the money from the manager. When we back the manager and qualify for the Champions League, come back, until then pipe down with your juvenile and naive statements.
  2. this isn't skunkers mate This isn't debate mate. of course. Nobody expected you to get into any debate at all, other than encouraging the club to spend millions it didn't have through a manager who didn't know what he was doing. Would be canny if you admitted this like, you're as mad and stupid as your mate the grey man.
  3. according to some, it means they disappear forever never to be seen again and taken over by Morrisons. They will be back winning their tin pot league again in a couple of years time and nobody will give a fuck about this news On what proof do you base your suppositions? that is what usually happens mate, in football,ie they come back again like they do after a relegation for instance, not the scaremongering put out and taken in by people who don't know very much about football ? Especially those who hate the people who saved NUFC from the very administration that would almost certainly have came by virtue of decades of apathy rather than sell out crowds, "trophy players" and regular European Football through good positions in the premiership, which in itself is a joke. Do you or anyone else disagree and if so, what do you think will happen to Rangers ? Do you think they will be taken over by Morrisons, or fade into oblivion like Third Lanarch ?
  4. On what proof do you base your suppositions? About 40% proof is typical with Leazes. do fuck off you stupid arsehole. Are you going to spend the next 4 years bickering with me then posting mountains of hot air saying what I told you all the time again ?
  5. We've spent more than just the money on Cisse since Carroll left. I love how you're so stupid that you can't see past bank balances when it comes to commenting on ambition. I love how you're so stupid that you don't see how withholding money from sales to the manager to try and build as good a team as possible doesn't show a shortage of ambition. This is just so, so fucking basic, it's unbelievable. There appears to be a growing amount of Newcastle Online and skunkers type fuckwits on here these days.
  6. wolves supporter we were chatting to few months ago when we were down there, says the opinion is that he's taken them as far as he can. Unfortunately, the days of Stan Cullis are long gone, I don't know how big a club Wolves think they are. Don't dislike them though, good fans, good town/city,good ground in the city centre, good away trip all round.
  7. Thought of them when I saw this thread tbh. first thing I thought of was Leeds too
  8. There's that too. But everyone says he'll be easy replaced in the summer. Just joining in Everyone says? That's alright then. of course, all we need is our mighty DOF and it's an absolute formality, and Mike will walk away with 20m in his back pocket too.
  9. Then WHY did you demand UNLIMITED backing for your man Souness??? you can stop moaning too. you got what you wanted having finally come around to the CORRECT and FACTUAL argument i have been making for at least 5 years. yes it really is that long. and i'm still having the same argument whether you like it or not. you're not disagreeing with me anymore though are you ?
  10. yes Deadman, the administration is just a convenient way to sack lots of people and walk away from their debts. according to some, it means they disappear forever never to be seen again and taken over by Morrisons. They will be back winning their tin pot league again in a couple of years time and nobody will give a fuck about this news
  11. I haven't read it yet, but there was a review on it in "When Saturday Comes" I believe. Also checked at Amazon where the average ratings seemed rather impressive. I think the best one is "Provided you don't kiss me". Which ones have you read? that is good. I also have this and haven't read it yet but this is the best football book I have ever read. I'm fascinated by Peter Taylor's ability to judge players, he says a bit about it but in essence he just had a God given gift.
  12. mancmag is still saying they didn't boo after finishing 5th, despite the link being posted in the thread. Just because I said so :-) What a wanker When is his brain transplant ?
  13. Booed for Finishing 5th, when we were 6th with 2 games to go. howay man you know what i meant - the players were booed for flopping in the cup then failing to dispatch wolves in our final home game of the season and almost certainly blowing the chance of a third consecutive top 4 finish. how i yearn for days now where we could boo a team for finishing that high up the table!
  14. Why do you keep going on about manc-mag? Or indeed what 'lack of knowledge' is he banging on about? Why lie? Big dafty tbh. still say they didn't boo when they finished 5th ? You need help, serious help, you utter, utter wanker.
  15. This lack of knowledge by the likes of mancmag, as demonstrated in this thread today for instance, is only serving to emphasise they have been bickering with me for all this time without really knowing what they are talking about, but then again I already knew that. Who's going to join him for the hospital treatment ? Lucky Luke ?
  16. fine, but you ought to have taken my word for it. States I was right actually as the season wasn't finished pedantic. As you admit it, you are forgiven. When is mancmag going to be admitted for his operation on his brain ie to pull his head out of his arse ?
  17. those boys are unlikely to have reported it incorrectly. i'll take that as proof there was booing. fine, but you ought to have taken my word for it.
  18. well spotted. Maybe now manc mag will go and have the long awaited surgery.
  19. true, and aye I know, part of being a good effective footballer is attitude. We won't ever know what went wrong with him. If we spent the rest of the Carroll money willy-nilly just for the sake of it we'd see more of those types. Thorough and considered scouting in the transfer market is the key to avoiding them. I'd rather talk about the example of signing players "willy-nilly" who give you champions League and european football for most of 15 years, thanks.
  20. The Bowyer Dyer incident wasn't even that season man. It was after Robson had left. A perfect example there of not remember things as they really were tbh. haha, manc mag too, but I don't believe a word he says most of the time anyway. Either that or he needs help.
  21. I was at that game and it's fucking bollocks. The stadium wasn't a quarter full at full-time but there were inevitably a few boos due to the shite performance. The revisionists have subsequently made out that that got Robson the sack when it was in fact the pathetic actions of the last board that did exactly that. The only sensible conclusion to be drawn, unless you don't want to learn from mistakes made. Which just seems an absurd viewpoint. Shepherd was ploughing the same furrow when he appointed Roeder (the 'fans choice') etc. Plot was beyond lost by then mind you. you clearly weren't there. The link isn't to an article by me, its to an article made by another guy who goes to games and has a comprehensive knowledge of the club, which Monkeys Fist will acknowledge. As usual, you can't get your head out of your arse and acknowledge anything, and you say others have mental problems. You are a fucking wanker sunshine, an utter wanker.
  22. http://fansonline.ne...icle.php?id=558 I was at that game and it's fucking bollocks. The stadium wasn't a quarter full at full-time but there were inevitably a few boos due to the shite performance. The revisionists have subsequently made out that that got Robson the sack when it was in fact the pathetic actions of the last board that did exactly that. it isn't my article Alex. I remember getting home and seeing a lot of comments about it on NO and maybe here too, it was quite loud, I was pretty disgusted tbh. I always stay behind after the end at the last game.
  23. read the link you cretin. For a change, get your head out of your arse.
  24. true, and aye I know, part of being a good effective footballer is attitude. We won't ever know what went wrong with him.
