  1. Naive - if any of the cases goes to the supreme court we'll be in classic VAR territory.
  2. As I understand it, it involves sufficient quorums being met so even then not clearcut. If those conditions aren't met then it goes to Pelosi.
  3. Yet the Fox exit polls suggest majority support for decent policies. It's like the UK where "values" are becoming king.
  4. With Nevada, Biden needs two of the last five whereas Trump needs four. Wisconsin is looking good for Biden so Michigan or Georgia would do it. I hope this happens as if it comes down to Penn the legal shit will get very messy.
  5. I think Biden will win but I'm 100% sure Trump would have won easily without Covid. That does not bode well for the US.
  6. I noticed he mentioned using the army for support purposes last night which is both interesting from both a taking it seriously at last pov and also how much it'll inspire the conspiracy nut jobs.
  7. He's wrapped it up in the supposed current "debate" on trans rights which I don't think is any different - what's wrong with saying anyone who denies rights is a bigot? The BBC has a record on this even before now - inviting a fuckwit like Nigel Lawson to oppose an expert on climate change being a classic.
  8. I don't doubt it was weaponised by his opponents and to some extent exaggerated but to to come out and say so when the proper response was at most to say its a fair report is exactly the bloody-minded naivety which made him a poor leader. He deserves all the stick he's getting for it.
  9. The new head cheese has decided that anything like that is controversial. He's obviously a fucking prick.
  10. You deserve a proper reward Cath - I'd just ask you all what you want in the world and make it happen. (Short of the impossible like Newcastle winning something).
  11. I had to watch a bit of last week's match on that Irish channel Premier sports and I expected them to be bad for it after having an Irish boss a while ago I always had to correct but fuck me these cunts were bad - made Sky seem almost bearable for it.
  12. I see they're doing a Dexter revival - due out next year. No details apart from Michael C Hall returning. I know I'm the only person on the planet who didn't hate the ending and maybe it should have ended after 4 years but I'm still looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
  13. Bit Tin Hat but did anyone with IPTV have issues last night? Mine stopped working on my TV for all channels but if I connected via a VPN on my tablet it worked fine. This morning all devices are working with no VPN. I wonder if Sky have worked with Virgin (my ISP) to protect their PPV games? (The game was typical Bruce shite obviously)
  14. The mackems were for it apparently - horrible twisting would ensue: "We're a massive club and should be in the top six" "But we need the money" "But we're a massive club....." "But we need the money...." Etc., etc. until they explode.
  15. That's the key to it imo - too many people either self-employed or on shit wages with no sick pay are too reluctant to isolate. Should pay people living wage at least or even use hotels to house people.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers of infected are similar to march/April but are now more visible due to more (half-arsed) testing.
  17. Whisper it quietly but EU membership isn't the most important issue facing the UK regardless of the pandemic. Replacing the tories would be infinitely better for most people than rejoining.

  19. I can understand Starmer trying to emulate Blair in getting the old fuckers on board but the reality is that that drift was happening before and during Blair's time as well - its about the link between people and unions and communities in a post industrial world as well as young people leaving these areas and leaving behind people who feel lost. Add in the freedom to be publicly racist and you have a huge problem which I think saluting the flag is only a start in fixing. As I've said before you can acknowledge what Blair did in terms of schools and hospitals etc. in these areas but unfortunately its still perceived with some justification that they were taken for granted and didn't receive enough support in terms of real investment. That perception will be hard to change.
  20. The thing about the island thing is that the excuse for not closing Heathrow etc was that tens of thousands arrive every day which is obviously incomparable with New Zealand - however nobody asked why the fuck so many needed to come at that time (March/April/May). Tourists should have been told to fuck off for starters and they should have allowed repatriation with quarantine but its business travellers that get me. I understand that the UK being such a hub for business is one of the reasons we were hit harder but why the hell didn't they ask travellers if their journey was that necessary? In fact they should have had to explain their reasons.

    Yes Gemmill...

I'd always thought of him in the same way as Yngwie Malmsteen - very good technically but producing music/songs that didn't really appeal to me. I do see his influence in Randy Rhoads who I did really like and there have been some good tributes from other people I like like Tony Iommi which suggest he was a decent bloke as well. RIP.
  22. It's also meant to have mental effects which doesn't bode well for him - 25th amendment issues would ensue though proving it would be a pain.
  23. Or Brighton "Champions" scarves as they're known.
  24. Surely dexamethasone and antibody therapies are contra-indicated? His main doctor's a fucking osteopath as well....
