  1. So what do you consider "well-off" - somebody with 2 cows and a hut? Poverty is always relative - if the people who were "poor" in the UK all earned £20k and had a decent disposable income which involved no credit cards, no overdrafts, no wonga and no food banks I'd be relatively happy and would dispute the definition. But when people are left with £20 a week to feed themselves when I know how rich many, many people are I think its fucking evil and I have no problem defining them as poor.
  2. As an aside of misconceptions about incomes when the "middle earners" are mentioned its assumed that millions are in the 40 and 45 percent tax brackets - in fact the last figure I saw was that only 11% pay 40% or more.
  3. You can just imagine Duncan Smith or one of the other cunts coming out with "So you've got £12 a week to feed your family - that's not poor - that would be a fortune in Somalia" - the level of idiocy and sheer refusal to feel empathy with people is beyond contempt.
  4. Somebody do a photo comparison of The Nook and Darras Hall (by no means anywhere near the top) so the idiot might get the point.
  5. Its a pity Glazer wasn't as thick as the Hull or Cardiff cunts and try a lawsuit to claim exclusivity for the name - having said that it would probably get a lot of support generally.
  6. And stopped from nepotistic "researcher" appointments.
  7. Even before they started winning thing under Ferguson, Man U fans were cunts - they had the arrogance of being the biggest club in the world which is why they hate Liverpool who actually had the tropies they think were theirs by right. A lot of the glory hunting aspect of them was based on nothing more that Munich sympathy as well. I suppose the Manc/Souse arrogance is a facet of success - Chelsea were always wankers before Abramovitch so its hard to judge and Man City have a Mackem type inferiority complex which has likewise twisted them into cunts. I suppose Arsenal were the "best" of the recent successful clubs in cuntishness terms but they had their moments. I remember years ago saying to my Dad that I hated Emlyn Hughes because he thought that Liverpool should win everything and he replied that that was why they were winners - to be fair I think Robson had an element of that kind of ruthlessness in him and maybe Keegan's problem was that he didn't - probably left Liverpool too soon. I suppose the question is how big a bunch of cunts we'd have been if we'd won it in 96 and built on that in the way Chelsea for example have - I like to think we'd have been different but I have my doubts.
  8. We've had a few chances to do this over the years - when they were slightly off or we played well with no luck - but today was a perfect storm of their mediocrity and our excellent performance. Loved the pictures of cunts leaving and looking like their world had ended - get used to it you glory hunting football tourist scum.
  9. My car is getting a mini service and im sitting in the garage watching sky news about this air traffic control problem and they have a graphic of all the planes circling london which looks iffy - might have to keep an eye out for droppers soon.
  10. I don't mind repeating that if they use % of gdp as a means of measuring the defecit then they should cut the shit about major leaving a healthy economy.
  11. Tiote and Cisse will have those windows out within minutes.
  12. Total Recall. I'd avoided it till now as I thought it was a frame by frame remake but found the differences and similarities made it quite interesting - and giving KB more screen time than SS in the original was a good idea. Not a patch on the original of course but not bad.
  13. I think I might have mentioned before that I have a sweet memory of Notts Co related to that game - we used to sit in the East Stand near the seated away fans and occasionally a few were seated around us if they had a few up. I think that was the game Stimson was sent off in and though he was shite, the SO was a disgrace and I remember asking an adjacent scab if he felt it was fair. He replied that he didn't give a shit as that was 3 wins in a row for them and they were going up and leaving shit like us behind. I remembered that conversation fondly when we went there in 94 and put 7 past the cunts in the league cup making them look like fat sunday pub league team - they'd already been relegated from the premier of course.
  14. I love the way he implies that there's a correlation between IQ and ability to "make wealth".
  15. It's the complicity of the mother that gets me - it always makes these things worse imo.
  16. Always liked Rutger - despite some semi-dodgy stuff even after The Hitcher etc. There was a big campaign when Interview with the Vampire was being cast to get him the part of Lestat and supposedly Anne Rice wanted him as well before Cruise got the part - I think anyone's who's read the books would agree it as the wrong choice.
  17. Ok but you did somewhat make it sound like an "occupation" would have normalised after such a long while which is possible but there was a bit of ignoring the "nastier" side. Obviously the Jewish population of Britain was a lot smaller than other parts of Europe but they and the other minorities would still have suffered. I've always thought the last couple of years of the war (even post D-Day) were decided on a few "coin tosses" like the V2 programme which could easily have gone either way given slightly different timings - it certainly wasn't the clearcut triumph it's sometimes painted.
  18. I think that CT's been treated a bit harsh here - fair enough "overlooking" the holocaust is stupid but its not that bad a question to ask overall. I suppose it depends how the alternative ended - if they'd never invaded Russia then they might have invaded Britain in about 42 but would still have had to deal with Stalin eventually. Or if they'd defeated Stalin as well that would bring the Americans into play but preumably the Germans would have succeeded with their rocket programme and probably with an atomic bomb. Another question would have been how effective a resitance would have been in Britain.
  19. Just watched Commando on Sky - it's enjoyable of course but fucking hell the "battle" where he kills about 500 soldiers and none of the fuckers shoot him is still such a classic.
  20. I still have a blueyonder address after starting with telewest/cableinet. To be fair to the bearded twat there's never been any pressure to switch to virginmedia.com
  21. A few years ago I was coming up for a game against chelsea on my own and my reserved seat was against the window surrounded by proper CFC heed the balls which was a bit iffy as there were four of them but one shifted no bother. In the end after a few cans it all got very pally apart from when I referred to chelsea as a cockney team which offended them. Im sure one of them was in that macintyre doc.
  22. There's no "overseas" in banking.
  23. Unpaid overtime is rife in banking (and thats for the plebs like me not the public face) but it's something ive never bought into. Unless I'm in the middle of something I leave at five on the dot but I see loads staying. Stupid thing is they dont generally work but tend to surf etc - its all a sad attempt to convince people they deserve a bonus which I know from past experience has sweet fa to do with shit like that and nothing to do with how they do their job in general. My view is I'd much rather get out and have more time to myself even if it ends up costing me a few hundred quid.
  24. It's more than two weeks since the storm when they didn't actually bother to run any trains and half of mine are still running with reduced carriages due to damage the fuckers haven't fixed.
  25. A la Nigel from Spinal Tap and use it to strum your guitar?
