You can think its important without insisting every new building has to be Georgian.

By the way my new royal fact for this year is that legally the queen owns every piece of land in England. We are granted "estates" which are actually licences to notionally buy and sell the land but if she wanted to she could revoke the estate at any time with no legal comebacks. Now I dont think for one second its likely but its another example of shit that's still in place that's just accepted.

Very much so I think I've said before I'd set IHT at 100% and agressively clamp down on evasion. We could of course just drop this meritocracy bullshit. (Note I do believe "mobility" is possible but not on a grand scale).

The queen is the tip of the iceberg though. A lot of the wealth and power in this country is birth dependent. Now of course that's pretty universal but my view is a measure of the "decency" of a country should be the extent to which it at least tries to mitigate that fact. The sickening worship of the royal family actually celebrates it which is what appalls me.

Exactly. I dont have a lot of respect for a lot of the public but how the hell they don't recognise how fundamentally wrong inherited position is never ceases to amaze me. Especially when meritocracy is so hailed at the same time.

Perhaps - I can see a scenario where theres a huge shitstorm in his reign and instead of having a sensible debate about the whole thing, the cretinous mass just demand William. I didnt mean I was in the diana camp above btw - I thought she was just another parasite.

I think a lot of people dislike him because of Diana but that's just a starting point for me. I think if he does get the chance he'll become a very divisive figure because he genuinely thinks he has a role as a "leader" evidenced by his intensive lobbying of government which he doesnt realise is directly at odds with the perceived role of king. I also think his views on religion will cause a crisis in the CofE which can only be a good thing in my view. The worst thing they could do in my view is to skip him - and funnily enough the fact that's been quite widely suggested gives credence to my view that he will be "good" for the republican cause.

Don't knock Charles, Renton - he's the best hope we have.

So the stupid cunt doesn't even realise what giving a job to a proper mackem bastard means - what a fucking imbecile. (Or deliberate piss taking which is even better)

I went a few times around the late 80s but the last time I as there was 91 - one of the motives was to find how much its changed.

Just booked a week in Cyprus for next month - its ages since I had a proper holiday so really looking forward to it.

Wanking over 0.3% growth? It must really upset the Daily Mail brain to welcome lower crime at the same time as being scared shitless about immigrants stealing their homes and rapimg their daughters.

Lovely grey sky here today and looking like rain (though still pleasantly warm) - hallelujah.

A little more than the jacket which I leave at home - thats the point. Sweating is unpleasant and should be avioded imo. (Unless you're exercising but that's a different context).

Carrying one of those will make you sweat even more surely?

Same applies to blokes heading for work at the moment in shorts and sandals with dress shirts.

I expect to see the "signings were brought forward to january" line trotted out ad nauseum completely overlooking the fact that they were actually ones that should have been made last summer.

My day and probably my week has just been made by reading that Mazzy Star have a new album out in september. Might dig out my Goddess Hope avatar tonight in celebration.

I see Beckham's "Ambassadorial" role with Sky seems limited to making cheesy ads for their football coverage.

I agree with the opinion above but the prosecution case was shit. Reminded me of the case against Jackson that went to court - definitely a crime imo but abysmal lawyering.

I love it when they argue that as a lot of them are lawyers and "businessmen" and such they are taking a low salary out of the goodness of their hearts so deserve more not mentioning how it sets them up for life financially if that's what they want. I still maintain they should be timesheeted contractors - I don't see how having a five year contract should lead to pensions, holidays and expenses as opposed to any other such contract terms - if they were contractors it might mean they actually turn up now and then and woould mean any nice jobs for family members would come out of their money.

Oliver's a bit posh/tarty for me like - though my middle name is James.

Wish they'd let them have the Essex branch of Greater Anglia - all the latest cunts have done is hire more ticket inspectors - THERES BARRIERS AT BOTH ENDS OF THE JOURNEY YOU FUCKING MORONS. (Sorry major bug bear of mine)
-
Slightly pissed off - I was sent a pre-order link for the Manics tour which refused to work all morning and when it did come alive it just says "tickets not available" - no mention of sell out or anything so I'm hoping its just a techy glitch - general sale is Friday morning.

Congratulations and all the best.
