  1. She worked in a supermarket when she was a student so wasn't afraid of work as they make out - she just naively thought that graduating would lead to more.
  2. I fucking Loathe Duncan Smith and all he stands for. The cunt has no qualifications or experience and got into politics via marrying a rich woman then has the nerve to say that stacking shelves is more important than science. I didn't think the Tories could get much lower but this has been the worst thing one of the fuckers has said for ages. Also he said she was being paid job seekers allowance - note what its called - how the fuck was she supposed to look for work if she was "working" all week?

If it means coming up with half decent stuff like this he should "panic" more often. Its also good that he stated Brown made a mistake - actually honest.
  4. I used go have a dentist plan at my previous place and it was worth it for things like crowns as the nhs ones are basic in terms of materials/look. I always opted for the nhs price on extractions as theres no benefit.
  5. Got a toothache so pissed off/apprehensive about the pain to come. I accept I haven't done that good a job of looking after them as there are a few gaps at the back but if this is the one I think I'll need a bridge or a denture. Could do with implants but that will have to go on hold pending my intended return to contracting this year.
  6. Looks like the cunt has been to a tanning salon.
  7. Its a shit verdict as they said its okay to force people to work for nowt as long as you get the wording right. Theyll change the terms and carry on.
  8. 3% of estates pay IHT. When the cunt talked about thousands of people losing their homes (supposedly robbing expectant children of their inheritance) somebody should have politely pointed out he was full of shit. This care home thing used to worry my Mam though in the end it didnt matter. Funny how Scotland has no such provision as care is guaranteed.
  9. Saw the last fifteen minutes of Nashville last night and it looked canny - any views?
  10. Didnt say we were good before - just saying he was another stopgap before the proper players were/are fit to return.
  11. That'll be the run of games that saw us staring probable relegation in the face. Being simple you notice how nice he looks on the ball but you ignore how the midfield is pissed on when he plays.

CT has a point here. The issue may affect some London marginals but it certainly wont make a difference in the SE as a whole.
  13. Pissed off - shit bonus this year. Hastens my exit.
  14. Enough for the evangelicals to care - they must have a lot of hate to go round.
  15. When i was a "Superfan" I did have the attitude that it made my opinions not only more valid but the only valid ones. That view did change as I went to less games and now none to the point where I think we're all in it together. There is still a part of me though that reacts to LM's shite about "3 years paid up" with a bit of the old view that Ive served my time so dont have to take that bollocks.
  16. For. Generalising those against were old white males and obvious religionists eg DUP members.
  17. Too much making up for Cabaye's absence imo - those long passes he tries can now be shunted to people who can actually do it.
  18. There seems to be scope both ways for other rites as well - I went to a CofE baptism a few years ago which was very catholic in emphasis but another that was very much like you describe. My mate got married in a CofE church but they brought the catholic priest in to bless it - I remember the contrast in tone of couple vesus God in the two bits.
  19. Isnt it a religion thing for Beith? I seem to remember him being very anti-abortion as well.
  20. I noticed my MP was one of those opposed - something else to bring up if I ever meet the lying sack of Tory shit.
  21. You're obviiously only an amateur Atheist I do admit to overthinking some things - I know to most people weddings and bpatisms are just excuses for pissups but I guess its a legacy from my upbringing that they should mean something. I mean that in the sense of mean something to the people involved obviously and not an actual meaning to God (may he strike me down).
  22. It's much more in catholicism - its a promise to raise the kid in the faith as well. Of course the "substitute" is just part of the godparent deal but as I said there was no way I would stand in a church making vows.
  23. I can understand it from the point of making your partner happy but its still wrong on a personal level imo - you made the oaths etc based on something you believe to be false which I think is basing it on a lie (I know signing the register is the legal part btw). Also not saying it was the case but I think its wrong of your partner to "subject" you to that no matter how much okay with it you were. I just think its a bad starting point for a good thing.
  24. Most people fall inbetween the two positions in not being full on Christians or "strident" Atheists but either see themselves as non-practising christians or "couldn't really give a shit" povs - I think its those who think they should be able to marry ina church without it meaning anything that are wrong. Of course you can take a strong position - I said no to my best mates request to be a Godfather for his kid as I would have felt like a hypocrite - having said that I did go to my Mam's requiem mass without a shred of regret or guilt.
