It's a pisser on the whole - I find myself thinking "good" when people I dislike are charged but obviously feel sorry for the kids involved at the same time.

I don't see how you can say "nice" (online at least) considering the nasty, vindictive, personal posts he addressed at several posters on a constant basis. I think you have a blind spot being an argumentative git like him (which I consider myself to be as well) and sharing a lot of his views - thats fair enough but you have to weigh up the associated bile as well.

Nobody else relishes it though.

I tried to watch the first one twice but fell asleep both times. I also disliked the blatant reverence for the characters which imo assumes that the viewer has read the books and so is on the edge of their seats at each introduction to see if whoever it is lives up to their expectations.

On a semi-related sexist note I always notice shops ran by women to be annoyingly mismanaged in terms of not staffing tills and other basics. I was in a chemists last week where I had to leave the prescription and come back because the sole duty pharmacist had gone out to lunch - I asked if it prevented service why couldn't she have brought a sandwich or sent one of the others out to get her something only to be met with blank faces and "why should she?" Fucking morons.
