Hong Kong billionaire Carson Yeung has completed his takeover of Premier League club Birmingham City.

Yeung was already Birmingham's leading individual share holder and his Grandtop International company raised its stake in the club last month.

I truely believe that sometime over the next three or so years, the same will happen with us.

Despite what the detractors say, we are a club with history, and our stadium and support base are a great attraction to potential buyers.

However, I don't think that a purchase by a multi-billionare would automatically mean success ... but at least it would put us on an equal playing ground with the other clubs owned by rich bastards.

I'm amazed it's not happened already. It's clearly not that difficult to sell a football club - 10 Premier League teams now have fairly new foreign owners.

Liverpool could be set for a second takeover of that type. A Saudi prince apparently.

Yeung has a reputation for interfering with football related matters apparently. He owns/owned the Hong Kong Rangers, which he often picked the teams, dictated coaching etc. If that's true, then Brum could be fun to watch in the same way Hearts are with Vladimir Romanov.

Birmingham City's Carson Yeung on money-laundering charges

Can't believe a Premier league club owner might not have been "fit and proper".

I love this bit from the lawyer.

"All they're saying is that he has got a lot of money, and he hasn't paid a lot of tax,"

"I mean there's lots of money in my bank account, not as much as his, but I don't pay taxes because it's not taxable."

:)
