We have looked quite good at times, nice passing and movement but we do need to be more productive in final 3rd. Gutierrez has been shit.

Carroll needs more support up front. Whenever the ball has got through to him, he's had two or more guys defending him. His touch looks quite decent, but no chance against that many. Nolan needs to get more involved and at least try to create some space for him.

I actually think he has been one if our best player so far...that said he and gutierrez are going to be heavily relied on for support so they both need to step up in terms of final ball.

Carroll and Lovenkrands will do fine, Shola as back up but we do need another option upfront ideally with pace.

 

Lookin at todays performance though its evident that we knock the ball round well but are struggling to create chances for our strikers.

 

Dont think Guthrie and Barton works...i mite get slated for this but im startin to think we need to sit Smith infront of the back four and let either JB, DG or KN roam in the final third.

Guthrie more involved and just better in general in Barton, though he didn't have a great game and wasted a fair bit of ball. Nolan was pretty ordinary, didn't do enough throughout the game, would have been good to see Carroll and Lovenkrands out there together. Would have worked well against their defense IMO, but I suppose you can't blame Chris for putting out the same formation that will take to the field against manure.
