I seem to recall everyone hailing Rooney as the new Alan Shearer when he was still a kid at Everton... that didn't materialise though did it? He wishes he could be as good :)

He's coming across like a right tosser. He's been shite for the last 6 months, fucked hookers and been given time off by the club to repair his marriage and what does how does he repay them?

All good points, so ungrateful, must be such an unfulfilling experience playing for Manchester United eh?

To be honest I think this is all coming from Rooney. He's playing shite and he's getting a lot of shite about his personal life so money and career aside I can understand him just saying fuck it and buggering off to madrid or anywhere he can.

He owes Man United a lot and a lot people almost regard him as part of the fabric of the club I suppose he's been there 6 years and he's messed up big time in the last year.

if it’s true that Man City will pay him £500k a week including his image rights — that’s £26m on a 5 year contract, that’s EACH year = £130m contract — wow!

to put it into context they’re already paying Yaya Toure £200k per week and it’s into the realms of US sport stars earnings.

If England had won the World Cup, he was playing on top of his game and no revelations had come out in the paper, I hugely doubt any of this would've come to this unfortunate head. I sound like a Man Utd fan there, but I don't want to see him at Man City it's just wrong, could be of great benefit if he went to Bayern or Real Madrid.

It'd be fucking hilarious if Citeh, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barca blank him...what would he do then? :)

His agent's obviously put the feelers out 1st. Even Rooney isn't that thick.

They'll patch it up, Rooney is much more important to the team than the likes of Ince, Keane, Beckham or any of the rest that Fergie let go.

He could afford to sell Ronaldo because in Rooney he had another star, if Rooney goes then who else have they got?

Their turnover was £283m last year, and they still made a loss. The interest payments on their loans was £80m. That £80m being washed down the drain because of the Glazer's could've been spent purely on players, it really is astonishing when you look at it, and I fully understand why Man Utd fans are so fucked off with them. They still made a loss despite the Ronaldo money, it might be a case of they have to sell Rooney. Man Utd are a massive club no one can take that away from them, but they're fucked in terms of competing with Chelsea and Man City on the transfer front as long as the Glazer's are in charge. What is happening at Man Utd, the financial situation, the global economic problems which will undoubtedly impact on revenues in the next two years, their best players are nearly at the end of their careers, problems with Rooney, inadequate younguns coming through, unable to compete with the very best in the transfer market presently, it's almost the perfect storm for Man City fans.

I predicted at the start of the season Man C will finish 2nd in the league.

Will be interesting to see the reaction of the Man Utd fans in his next appearance there. He's a lot deeper than people think Rooney and I thnk he blows things out of proportion in his head. When he left Everton he wrote about being to get away from Moyes then a few years later he's apologising to Moyes saying a lot of what he said was just wrong and it was more his youthful termperament getting in the way of the truth of the matter, maybe it;s a case of de ja vu with Fergie.

Looking increasingly likely that ManU are a spent force now. Mind, I'm not convinced Rooney isn't past his best either. Always struck me as an extraordinarily precocious player who won't be playing in his 30s (especially without Ferguson's guidance).

Astonishing press conference. Never seen Ferguson look so perplexed and weak. Most of the Manu fans I know start whinging whenever they lose or draw that it's catastrophic and yada yada yada, the fallout from this should be funny :)

Blatently all an act, the snidey jock fucker.
