The Fish 11410
Need a good recommendation that meets various (and sometimes contradictory) requirements; 1. Got to be pretty close to Seaton Sluice (15-20 minute drive max) 2. Got to have a menu that is both good quality, without being too "artsy fartsy" 3. Got to be able to have tables where a couple of bigger people can comfortably sit. 4. Not a fish restaurant. If you can argue amongst yourselves until there's a top 5 to choose from, that'd be great. Omni at Monkseaton is nice. No idea what the drive is from Seaton Sluice but must be near enough.

Lots of nice places in Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. Pranzo’s maybe?
Renton 24403
Beehive is the obvious suggestion.
Gemmill 52260
Aye Beehive is a good shout. They're often quite well booked up though (at least they are for Sunday lunch) so get a booking in.

We've been guilted into spending time up north for the Festive Gooch and there's no way I'm leaving the planning to them lot, no FUCKING way. Booked a cottage near Alnwick we can stay in, sorting somewhere we can go for food, and looking at stuff that my kids will enjoy too.

Oh it's a bit of a brutal trek, must be all of 5 minutes, fuck me 😂😂😂😂 P.S. despite Jay Rayner giving it a tremendous review, Omni was distictly meh when visited by the OCBC (old cunts breakfast/lunch club)

No drive at all, but unfortunately that menu is way too adventurous for some of the family. Put it this way, a Margherita Pizza is too "spicy" for one of the sisters.
Renton 24403
Omni doesn't take booking does it? Put me off, can't just turn up on the off chance.

You don't even have to ring, they've got a booking thing on their website.

Gemmill 52260
The beef shin curry is nice but the best thing I've had there was this special they had on that was pork belly. It was unreal.
The Fish 11410
Kind of related to this thread, if anyone's ever passing through Nottingham they should swing by here; Best Indian Street Food in Nottingham | Bombay Delicatessen Went to Brecon a couple of weekends ago, and a mate brought a feast from here for one of the nights down there. Everything was dead simple to bring up to temperature and tasted like it'd just been cooked fresh. Big tick from me. ✅
