Anyone got one? Longest I've been without a shave is 2 weeks.

Was watching the MLB the other night though and was mega impressed by Brian Wilsons beard. Its blatantly dyed but when he was asked about it he just said he'd been out in the sun all week and it had gotten a tan

I reckon Im going to see if I can grow a months worth and see how far I get. Every bloke should grow a beard at some stage of the life tbh.

I usually sport up to 6 days stubble cos of someones taste (!) suits me though, but a fully grown beard, no, no, no too much ginger starts coming in, and you think oh dear.

Could never have a Jeff Capes. You've got to have the right shaped face for stubble/beard or you look like a mug. Could you imagine Harry Hill with a beard for instance. Or the fish even.

I thought J69 was referring to his wife when I saw this thread .

Beard's are fucking vile. Imagine all the food that would accumulate under your chin? Feeling itchy just thinking about it.

I love growing a beard, but generally shave every 10 days. Never really been keen on the clean-shaven look.

Think the most I let it grow for was 3 months or so and it was getting pretty crazy.

People who don't know me have said I look as young as 25 totally clean shaven even now. However with a beard, just last week some cunt thought I was 36 :nufc:

I can't grow decent facial hair to save my life. Have tried on a few occasions and it just looks scraggy even after a few weeks, never fills out or anything, so I've given up trying. Mind you, my dad's the same and that's not stopped him.

Bit like Stevie, wor lass prefers me with stubble. Kids find it funny as well. I can't go more than a week though. For one I'd have a shit beard, I get no growth on my cheeks and loads on my neck and chin etc. Also it itches like fuck on my neck when it gets too long. So I use a beard trimmer set so it leaves a bit of length. Such a hassle shaving though. Especially when the battery runs out mid way...

Hate shaving but couldn't live with a beard for the itchiness and food droppings.

I do occasionally after a week or so growth like to shave off in a style and then see what it looks like before finishing the shave.

Sometimes it's a simple goaty and sometimes a three musketeers job or even a porn star tash!

Just shaved off nearly 4 weeks worth, was thick and curly. Got a week of holiday left so will even the tan on my face, made the mistake before of growing a beard on holiday, shaving on the morning going back to work and having half a white face.

I can never get past the face itch, have tried a few times but usually doesn't last more than a week or two. Then you face the prospect of a skin burning shave to get rid of the bastard. Strange too as not shaving suits my lazy tendencies but Id rather the faff of it every other day ahead of the hassle and discomfort of an itchy chin and ingrown hairs.

I rarely shave and generally keep my beard trimmed closer to stubble. Met a girl a couple of months ago who is encouraging me to grow it and knowing how rare it is to find one of them I'm delighted. At the moment I've got a short boxed standard with enough growth to get a decent grip.

Renton, from my experience I'm more likely to find food in my 'tache than my chin. Especially true for softer foods like sauces, milk and ice cream (especially with a cone). The worst time to have decent growth is when you've got a cold. Runny nose + vomit =

Brock, Jon Dyer is amazing. Good link. I've tried a few of those styles when I've got bored or when I've been removing a beard and normally end up looking like an idiot, but it's definitely worth it. Have you experimented much with styles?

I'm not a fan of beards. I associate them with tree hugging sandal wearers, the sort who drink real ale and make their own compost. They are likely to have pot bellies and stick thin legs, and own a tankard.

On the other hand, if you look like Brian Blessed, own a roaring laugh, are built like a brick shithouse and can remove a man's teeth by slapping him on the back, then a beard looks OK.

When you think of all the shit women go through like child birth, periods, minge cramp etc... we can't complain us blokes, but I fucking hate shaving. When you're about 13/14 you think get in, I can shave, I'm a man!!!! It sharp wears off though, so that's another reason to support growing a weeks stubble at a time.
