Lets all laugh at Liverpool

- Liverpool have scored a goal every 14 shots this season. Fulham have scored a goal every 7 shows and Everton have scored a goal every 10.5 shots

- Suarez was unsuccessful with ten dribble attempts v Newcastle - the most by a player in any game across Europe's top five leagues this season.

- Liverpool attempted 37 crosses v Newcastle but only one (from Stewart Downing) reached a teammate.

- Steven Gerrard failed to find a Liverpool player with 12 crosses v Newcastle

Lets all laugh at sunderland

- Sunderland have recorded just 12 shots on target in nine games this season. They have managed none in their last two games v Stoke and Aston Villa. The next least is 34 by Stoke.

- Adam Johnson has attempted a total of 24 crosses in his last two games and only two have reached a teammate.

Lets all laugh at Andy Carroll

- Andy Carroll has played 426 minutes for West Ham without scoring on loan from Liverpool.

- Carroll has not managed a single shot on target in his last three PL appearances v Southampton, Wigan and Manchester City.

General

- Fulham have scored more goals (21) than every other PL team barring Manchester United and Chelsea.

- Eight of the ten teams Southampton have faced this season are currently in the top half of the table.

- Man City have scored exactly half as many goals (18) as the same stage last season (36).

- Stoke have not won any of their last 14 away games in the PL and have scored just eight goals in those games

- All Newcastle's 12 PL goals this season have been scored by French speakers.

Interesting comment I read about Newcastles central midfield. 180 minutes = 2 games out of 10 = negative impact

At stages last season, it hardly seemed fair for other midfielders that Cabaye and Tiote were allowed to play together. It was like a couple of under-16s had been dropped into an under-12s game, running further, tackling harder and just looking much tougher than almost any other combination in the Premier League. It was how they got away with basically a 4-4-2 while many other teams packed the midfield in an attempt to control games. This season, the pair have only started three games together, and Cabaye went off injured in one of those and Tiote was sent off after 25 minutes of another - in total, they've only spent 180 minutes on the pitch together. There could be many reasons for Newcastle's relative woes this season - the form of Hatem Ben Arfa and it being Demba Ba's turn to score goals rather than Papiss Cisse's being two - but the lack of their midfield powerhouse combo is certainly a significant factor.

Another useless little nugget of information I heard the other day - Every premier league goal scored by a Newcastle player since March has had a surname starting with A, B or C.

There's no way Carroll will score against us, he's got no affiliation at all with West Ham and I bet he couldn't give a flying fuck if they got relegated. He will have a stinker against us or he will pull out with a severe small toe bruise or something just so he doesn't have to play and look obvious he wants us to win.

That lad wants to wear black and white again.

Like when he tried to cheat his way to a penalty and get Krul sent off?

Carroll would love to score against us.

However, Coloccini being out isn't necessarily too bad against these lot, as their aerial approach should be a piece of piss for Taylor and Williamson to deal with. Williamson did a decent job against Carroll at Anfield last season, considering the number of crosses they put in for him.

That's a frightening statistic, if you're a mackem. It's unbelievable.

Newcastle united are the only team not to have scored from a set piece this season.

Chelsea have had 4 bookings for diving. Twice as many as the next 2 teams, Spurs and Swansea.

Only 3% of Newcastle shots are taken inside the 6 yard box. The lowest in the league. Reading are highest on 14%

52% of Tottenham shots are from outside of the 18 yard box. The highest in the league.

Swansea spend less time in the opposition half than any other team. Only 23%.
