The Fish 11596 Posted Friday at 10:04 Share Posted Friday at 10:04 I chuckled until the final word, then my pinafore slipped and my wokeness showed.

Rayvin 6681 Posted yesterday at 14:25 Share Posted yesterday at 14:25 Funny how often we get to call him that. Maybe the right are correct, maybe they really are all the same.
ewerk 34909 Posted yesterday at 14:37 Share Posted yesterday at 14:37 In fairness you can hardly expect the Prime Minister to say anything different.
Rayvin 6681 Posted yesterday at 14:41 Share Posted yesterday at 14:41 I don't think that saves him from the accusation tbh. He's taking a stance because of his office, fine, I can understand it rationally, but his soul remains sold.

Rayvin 6681
I wonder how it even happens. You reckon that these people get into office, finally understand how everything works and then think to themselves that they're simply too small to upset that many applecarts all at once? Kid Dynamite 8107
Starmer was doing his job as a human rights barrister and giving the bloke his statutory entitlement to a legal defence. That doesn't mean he necessarily agreed with it, anymore than a barrister defending someone up on a murder charge is a massive fan of murder.
Renton 24935
I have a massive issue with him on what he said about immigration which was frankly disgusting and maybe unforgiveable. I hope this was an aberration caused by an errant speech writer cos its actually quite out of character. But some of the other criticism of him is not justified. He's 100 times preferable to the previous 3 tory leaders l, for starters. People should remember that.

I think Major got, and still gets a bad rep. Succeeding Thatcher was always going to be a busted flush and Black Wednesday was a fucking disaster of biblical proportions. Like the recently departed Tory government, he knew they were on their way out long before the General Election, but unlike Johnson, Truss, Sunak, etc. I didn't see him deliberately sabotaging what was to be inherited. He lay foundations both economically and in terms of the peace process that the incoming Labour government pushed on with.

I’ve got a lot of issues with him but that’s a fucking pathetic tweet imo. It’s almost Owen Jones levels of naive simplicity
