Netanyahu has now claimed in amongst the carnage that he is feeling a very real personal cost in all of this - his son had to postpone his wedding.

How's this going to impact Sunderland attendances?

I wonder how it even happens. You reckon that these people get into office, finally understand how everything works and then think to themselves that they're simply too small to upset that many applecarts all at once?

The absolute fucking hypocrisy of a politician calling another one a hypocrite.

Starmer was doing his job as a human rights barrister and giving the bloke his statutory entitlement to a legal defence. That doesn't mean he necessarily agreed with it, anymore than a barrister defending someone up on a murder charge is a massive fan of murder.

I have a massive issue with him on what he said about immigration which was frankly disgusting and maybe unforgiveable. I hope this was an aberration caused by an errant speech writer cos its actually quite out of character. But some of the other criticism of him is not justified. He's 100 times preferable to the previous 3 tory leaders l, for starters. People should remember that.

Okay, I'll go back 6. John Mayor looks positively statesman like compared to what's on offer nowadays.

I think Major got, and still gets a bad rep. Succeeding Thatcher was always going to be a busted flush and Black Wednesday was a fucking disaster of biblical proportions.

Like the recently departed Tory government, he knew they were on their way out long before the General Election, but unlike Johnson, Truss, Sunak, etc. I didn't see him deliberately sabotaging what was to be inherited. He lay foundations both economically and in terms of the peace process that the incoming Labour government pushed on with.

100%. I’ve got a lot of issues with him but that’s a fucking pathetic tweet imo. It’s almost Owen Jones levels of naive simplicity

Well, the article says they were violent and I heard on the radio they had caused millions of pounds of damage?

I'm not necessarily believing this or defending them being put on the banned list. But what I would say is why were they targeting the RAF? Have the RAF been bombing Gaza? There's ways of protesting without making yourselves a national security threat. I also simply don't accept the UK is culpable for the horrendous situation in Gaza. Realistically, what can the government do? I guess be more condemnatory but honestly don't see that doing any good.

We're flying surveillance to support Israeli bombardment - hence hitting the RAF. No one voted for it, but we're doing it.

I mean I don't actually agree with it either for what it's worth but if this is terrorism then so is destroying Tesla - seems Starmer agrees with Trump.

The linked article doesn't really offer any proof the RAF are launching these flights for any other reasons than the stated purpose of hostage location. If the implication is that the RAF are involved in genocidal activity I hope that comes out one day if it's true.

Think there is quite a difference between setting alight a Tesla and breaking into MoD land as well, but again I don't know what's really happened.

You see what you want to see, I'm not here to persuade you. I'm just explaining why they did it.

As for the Tesla thing, both were political acts of criminal damage. I could see the UK calling this sabotage, but not terrorism. Terrorism is a fucking stupid thing to call it - but it does give the government the largest number of options to silence people.
