She's refusing to commit to working-age benefits going up in line with inflation too, something Johnson had previously committed to.

They're fucked. She's stating somehow they will reduce the deficit (only been doing that for 12 years), cut taxes, induce growth, and simulatenously maintain public services. That only leaves benefits, but she can't cut the pension cos tories. So it will have to be benefits to those of working age which they promised not to. The amount of hardship that will introduce in the present climate will be off the scale. Even Gove and IDS won't support it. Braverman will of course.

Yeah but then Braverman is a fucking mong! And as you allude to, she's committed to making sure pensions continue to track inflation. She's truly fucking horrific. She's unbelievably, within 4 weeks, making Johnson seem like a reasonable predecessor.

This will play well in the Red Wall. Expect Labour's poll lead to tumble in the coming days.

Not sure if you are being serious or not? This shit isn't going to fool anyone. People know when they are hungry and cold. They know when they have lost their house etc. You've made this point yourself. And even by tory standards, the anti-growth coalition is a bit desperate.

Is it all going to be a bit like 1992? after black Wednesday the tories never recovered in the polls despite using the 5 years up to the 1997 general election to “return the country to growth” they still got annihilated by new Labour…. :cuppa:

I’ve been saying for years that it’s the lack of 2 for 1 offers on Freddos that have been holding this country back.

I like how they aren’t creating growth by doing something, but by not implementing something. Or something

Trump had charisma and near enough parity in the polls and still lost the election with that patter. Truss is an unlikeable, unfunny charisma vacuum with a huge polling deficit. She's fucked.
