Happy Face

He'd have made a good second striker 15 years ago. Up front on his own in this team he looks a bit ponderous.

He's 21 though.

Shambles that he's been leading our line single handedly for most of 15/16 and expected to be a 20 goal a season man. Doesn't happen at any other top flight club.

Premier League top U21 goalscorers

Alli 6

Martial 5

Sterling 5

Mitrovic 4

Redmond 4

Watmore 2

Deulofeu 2

Ward-Prowse 2

Iheanacho 2

Think the experience will do him the world of good and with his strength and temperament he could be a handful for years to come.

Whether that's in the Premier league or for us is another matter.

I think any striker would struggle up front by themselves. He's still missed a few, though.

it's was always asking a lot of a 21 year old kid new to the league, and the country, to score the goals needed to keep us up.

Fuck, this is shit news. Although he doesn't score many goals we have literally no other strikers that give us a focal point to the attack like he does. We could have done with his physical presence against Stoke.

He was driving Shawcross and Wollscheid (sp?) mental last time we played them, he'll be a big miss for this match

Doumbia was just a last ditch attempt of getting a striker in. Ferreyra esque. I don't think he's the answer to our problems tbh but I hope I'm wrong.

Highest 'goals to minutes on the pitch' ratio in the squad this season

Same as Payet and Deeney

Why the fuck was Cisse started today?

I think he wants to try and get experienced players on the pitch, I'd start Mitrovic instead though

Definitely agree, think he's making a point about the value of experience. Bullshit transfer policy might get panned in the summer, hopefully.

I think Rafa is doing the right things to be honest. He starts who he thinks could help the team most in the immediate game. We've all seen where Mitro or Ayoze Perez have scored this year only to walk and jog around the pitch the next few games.

Steve Mclaren used the same players in the same positions in the same formations all year long and look where that got us.

Keeping him fit for the City game? Same as Perez maybe?

When he came on his physical presence was dangerous (including a bulldozer for the 3 goal) against tired players. Coupled that with Perez I thought Rafa did right.
