Been listening to the Duncan Ferguson audiobook on Spotify. I haven't got to his time at NUFC yet, but he comes across like he's got a massive chip on his shoulder tbh. Loads of run ins with the police

he'll probably know toonpack then.

I suppose calling your autobiography “Big Dunc” is pretty indicative as to the egotistical, narcissistic level of the read before a page is turned (or listened to) mind

Didn't realise he only got 7 international caps because he spat his dummy out at the SFA cos he did 6 weeks in jail when he nutted someone on the pitch.

He didn't get jailed just for the nutting iirc, he was on probation for a series of fisticuffs I believe.

I still think it's outrageous that he was jailed for something that happened on a football pitch. Probation or not.

A police sergeant familiar with Ferguson's legal history saw it on the TV and made a complaint ... this is an example of why I no longer live in Scotland :cuppa:

Was his third conviction for assault (just looked it up). I'm supposing the nutted player reported it as such and in law a football pitch isn't anything goes territory, in reality it's no different to the street.

The Portsmouth performance under Hippoheed Allardyce should’ve seen him hung, drawn and quartered.

Then have Keegan take a shit down his neck hole.

He didn’t even get a red card for it at the time and the player on the receiving end made no issue of it.

His problem with the SFA was that they understandably banned him for it. Part of the ban was served while he was in prison and the SFA tried to make it that the ban only started when he got out.

I’ve heard him on a couple of podcasts and he came across well. He understands that alcohol got him into a lot of trouble and knocked it on the head.

I mean there are limits to that argument. If you stamp on someone's face with your boots on, then I'm not sure you should swerve police action because you were in the middle of a game
