The Dark Knight. On Blue Ray. On a 40 inch TV.

Thought that the two ships bit was one moral dilemma too far though. Great performance by Ledger, although I think those people who've said that he's so mad you can see how it would have affected him to the extent he took his own life are taking it a bit far.

Black Narcissus. Not as good as the other Powell & Pressburger films I've seen but it gets better as it goes on and the ending is good.

Dawn Of The Dead. Shite acting but what seemed to start as a pretty dull zombie film really gets going and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Lost Weekend. Classic, Ray Milland is superb and although it's got a standard Hollywood happy ending I have to admit I was wanting it that way.

Hero. Beautiful and a canny film but not as good as it looks.

Judgement Night. Hadn't seen it in ages but a cracking film. Jeremy Piven is class as ever.

Iron Man

;)

Me too.

I was enjoying it as much as you seemed to, until they stopped telling the story for a half hour battle scene. Really made the back end drag infuriatingly.

Nice appearance by Samuel Jackson, love the eye patch.

Tempted to watch that now...

Genuinely looking forward to Ironman 2.

Interested to see how they tackle Thor (Kenneth Brannagh running the show, but how do you get the mystical Norse God of Thunder to dovetail into the universe established by the Iron Man/Incredible Hulk films)

Worried about Captain America (Joe Johnston and Christopher Markus... Narnia and Jurassic Park III respectively :aye: )

Baffled about Ant/Giant Man (Edward Wright is in charge of this one...)

Just on dl Ironman in HD over XBL to see what my new telly looks like.

Thing is, they have to get each character film right, before they get the "team" film right.

Lars and the Real Girl - 8/10 - very weird and enjoyable.

The House Bunny - 4/10 - I'm easy when it comes to comedies, but this was v. poor. Didn't make much sense at all.

Ghost Town - 7.5/10 - Decent enough, Gervais is pretty good at what he does in it.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - 6.5/10 - Love most of Seth Rogen's stuff. Some quality one liners or monologues as always, but story quickly got lame.

Hancock

Bill Hicks would have a field day with this I think. Columbia Pictures part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Sony make a film about how a man in advertising has a heart (preposterous already, I know). All he wants is to make the world a better place by getting his heart logo on as many branded products as possible to build his kid a brighter future, because effective brand placement really can save the world. In the end he pulls off the greatest coup advertising has ever seen, he gets his logo placed on the moon so everyone on the planet can see his brand every night. There's some stuff about super heroes in there too, but that's all secondary to the close ups of BMW, Cadillac, Capitol Records, Chevrolet, Christian Dior, Coca-Cola, Dasani, Datascope, Dodge, Dunkin' Donuts, Everest, FedEx, Fitovers, Ford, Greenpeace, Headline News, Jiffy Pop, Kenworth, Korean Air, Macalester College, McDonald's, Mercedes, Motorola, Nike, Polar Air Cargo, Ray-Ban, Sony, Sony VAIO, Spalding, Sprite, State Farm, Swatch, Wells Fargo, Wish-Bone, YouTube and Zagnut.

It made me want to vomit prodigiously.

What they should do is lift as much as they can from the current Thor run. Asgard is on Earth near a small town in Oklahoma with Donald Blake the town's doctor. That way it becomes less mystical because as much as I love all the Norse mythology stuff, talks of planes of reality, rainbow bridges and all that won't fit into the more 'scientific' Marvel movie universe. This way while they are the Norse Gods, they have come to Earth to help out in a way.

Madagascar 2 - Took the bairn and as usual she enjoyed the start and the end and fidgitted her way through the rest of it. I thought it was canny like but as with the first one the best bits are when the penguins are on and that's not often enough.
