I think it was done to block accounts they thought were touting tickets. So if anything it’s good to see they’re trying to stop the touts so proper fans have a better chance of getting tickets. Obviously you still have no chance.

the thing is id actually doff me hat to them if this was the case, but it isn't.

first chance I got to ring the box office today to find out why i couldn't buy tickets this morning was at 16.30. I was in queue of 50 odd people.

in fairness to the box office they answered my call at about 17.20, 20 minutes after it shouldve closed. apparently they've been inundated with calls from touts like me all day.

my account has been flagged for suspicious activity, multi logins,  multi refreshes, potentially shared accounts/passwords. some of which they're bang on about. except of course im not really a tout at all, just somebody who wants to go to the match. the same as im sure are the overwhelming majority who try their best to improvise to get one of the 2000 or so tickets that go on sale on a monday morning.

I pointed the young lad in the direction of here...

https://seatpick.com/newcastle-united-vs-fulham-st-james-park-tickets/event/377424?quantity=4

 and here...

https://www.livefootballtickets.com/fixtures/newcastle-united-v-fulham-tickets-english-premier-league.html

and asked him why the club were doing absolutely fuck all about the tickets already on sale for the fulham game long before the humble member/ordinary supporter even gets the chance to apply for a ballot. was it because these tickets were coming from corporates/staff/players etc?

stoney silence on that one. fuck them.

Did they say they'd removed the block on your account? Might want to ring first thing if not.

If I was the young lad working overtime trying to help him and having to listen to his shit about stuff well above my pay grade I'd have left his account blocked.

That's grossly unfair, I am sure TBD was calm, collected, even toned and painstakingly polite for the full duration of his call.

My mate got blocked, got told to ring the ticket office and he was on hold for 2 and a half hours  It’s fucking amateur hour up there at the minute with the ticketing, like. Couple the fact you can’t get on the website because they’ve also released the new Adidas gear this morning and it’s yet another recipe of stupidity

They should have contacted people in advance to tell them that multiple logins was being outlawed. It's not like the fact that it tips the touts off even matters cos they'll either still do it out of desperation in which case you catch them, or they won't, and then you've sort of achieved your goal anyway of removing their advantage.

Especially if you're just gonna unblock everyone that rings you up anyway (including the actual touts). All it's done is changed the rules and inconvenienced a load of people. Including the box office staff who have 2 hour call queues to wade through.

Position 73,000 in the queue for me. It's only right I don't get lucky on my first go (or ever).

It's fucking USELESS though. When I first went on I was just in some random queue for "ticket management", not for the actual match. I had to click through to home tickets and just got some were broken page for that queue-it system. Didn't realise I just needed to refresh the page.

Got a decent queue number 1036 but fuck all left. The odd random ticket for level 7 but when you click on it’s gone. Not that I even want to visit level 7 ever again, but it was the principal.

A few leffes, feet up, see all the action and instant replays it will have to be.

My mate got some on the phone. Was told it was strictly an online sale but got the "well, just this once then" treatment. If you know someone in the box office, you're sorted.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here, because there was about 0.7s between the ticket coming up for sale, me clicking on it and it disappearing?

No idea but were you just sat refreshing over and over again and one appeared?

They crop up every 2-3 minutes! Then disappear instantly! I assume there are 4000 people doing the same thing

Have had the identical experience 3 times now. Decent little adrenaline rush, but no tickets.

It's a complete shit show. There'll be kids growing up who'll have no idea what it's like to go to a NUFC match when getting a ticket is like some kind of task from the Krypton Factor*.

When I went on it was nearing 125k in the queue.

Everything sold out by 11am.

Flights to Newcastle are pretty rough too, was £400 for me and the wee lad yesterday if we were going to go to the Barca match. It's about half price to fly to Edinburgh and get the bus down!
