If you are wealthy beyond the dreams of most human beings just fucking commute to London for your social shenanigans ffs. You can fly there, go in a chauffeur driven limo, stay in the most expensive hotel you want rather than playing for some shite club with another 5 of you on the bench London is class if you’re rich. It’s also great for footballers who can just sink into the background and not get recognised everywhere they go.

London is a global capital, and in the UK it is unrivalled for variety of food, shopping, culture ( I know, I know) and nightlife options for young twatty millionaires. It's also a major transport hub for Europe and the rest of the world. There's over 250 flights to Dubai every week from London, 63 to Paris a day. I’ve lived half my life in Newcastle and half in South East (about 60-90 mins train into London) if I was a 23 year old with no ties to either area I’d choose London. If I was 31 and settled and liked walking my dog - I may choose Newcastle. Edited 8 hours ago by Holden McGroin

Ahh the myth about the weather. You ever spent a November in Genoa (baltic), or an overnight in New York? Bollocks man it’s a few fucking degrees here and there

Craig 8160
Aye, there's a draw to London for footballers that a lot of people don't seem to share, and therefore don't get. It's a factor we've always had to negotiate beyond, and we always will. I've heard a few mumblings that Pedro was considerably pissed off that, in his opinion, he was the backup plan should the deal for Isak not come off. If there's any truth to that then we cannot be surprised if we weren't a consideration for him this time around. Wages, as Alex said, were also a massive factor. The Elanga saga seems to have legs and both Romano & Ornstein are reporting it. More so, Forest fans seem resigned to losing him. I think this one will come off and I expect Trafford to sign next week as well.
