Holden McGroin 9909
There is no way this is over. Isak wouldn't take this stance if Liverpool were going to half-arse it. They'll be back. Edited August 1 by Holden McGroin

I'd love it if we still bought his replacement this window. If we get Sesko in, if that prick Isak steps out of line, he can sit on the bench. Craig 12386
Someone on Twitter (yes, I know) claims the club could invoke FIFA's article 17 and terminate his contract unilaterally - suggesting that if we so desire, we can take him and his agent to the cleaners. "Article 17 of FIFA's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP) addresses the consequences of a player terminating their contract with a club without just cause. It outlines the potential for financial compensation and sporting sanctions to be imposed on the party that breached the contract."

I think the former I think if he stays, they'll integrate him back into the squad and we'll carry on as though it was all a bad dream. It's not unlike how Liverpool themselves dealt with Gerrard back in 2005.

Holden McGroin 9909
He hasn't publicly spoken so I think they could bullshit their way out this on a massive PR arse kissing exercise. He'll need to sign a new contract and play the game but he can turn this around. BUT it won't happen as Liverpool will be back for him.
Gemmill 63246
Keith Downie has promised me that signings will come and it's going to be a very busy end to the window for Newcastle. I know he works for Sky but he seems like a nice lad, and I think he really wants the best for me.

He had his head turned for a while before he changed his mind and signed a new deal. but wasn't that after death threats to him and his family from those cuddly cultists..?

Normally good things come out of transfers like this. He isn’t one of my heroes and can be replaced. id sell him for £150m. Preferably to a team not in our league. Rayvin 8366
This feels like a positive compared to the uncertainty. I don't know what that bid from Liverpool was meant to achieve at all but PIF seem to have been ready for it and prepared with a response. That at least suggests they're actively paying attention rather than asleep at the wheel. I do wonder if they're (Liverpool) trying to get Isak to submit a transfer request but I'm not really sure what that changes, frankly - it's not like him producing one suddenly gives us a replacement striker. aimaad22 6003
The lad needs to have a serious think about his advisors throughout all of this. More promising careers than his have gone down the drain because the player got a bid ahead of himself listening to greedy little shits.

I think that's exactly what they did. Kept their powder completely dry until the scabs submitted their bid and delivered a prepared statement that left them in no doubt a deal isn't happening. Pretty certain we knew the bid had been rejected before we knew it had been submitted, right?
