  4. "UK terror threat level rated severe Alan Johnson said the threat to the UK from international terrorism has been raised from substantial to severe The threat to the UK from international terrorism has been raised from substantial to severe - meaning an attack is "highly likely". Announcing the move, Home Secretary Alan Johnson said although the threat had increased there was no intelligence to suggest an attack was imminent. But he urged people to be vigilant. He added that it was not specifically linked to the Christmas Day plane bomb plot or any other incident, although it comes ahead of a major counter-terrorism conference in London next week. Mr Johnson said: "The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) has... raised the threat to the UK from international terrorism from substantial to severe. This means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, but I should stress that there is no intelligence to suggest that an attack is imminent. "JTAC keeps the threat level under constant review and makes its judgments based on a broad range of factors, including the intent and capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and overseas." He added: "The highest security alert is critical and that means an attack is imminent, and we are not at that level." The minister said more measures had been taken to protect aviation since the alleged failed bomb attack on a plane at Detroit at Christmas. "We have a very adept and very focused counter-terrorism facility in this country and people should be reassured by that." The Christmas Day bomb plot has moved the focus of the fight against terror onto the Yemen, where suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has reportedly claimed he was supplied with explosives. The Home Office said that the change in threat level would not cause "any discernable difference" for members of the public taking flights or going about their normal business. Rather than triggering additional security checks at airports or putting more police onto the streets, the new assessment will send a signal to police and security officials to step up their activities behind the scenes." thoughts people? 5. lets hope WBA progress and lose sight of the main goal of this season which is promotion. i'd take that (promotion) anyday over getting to the later stages of the FAC and being raped by a mid table prem table team. sometimes realism is a bitch!
  6. free kick. top corner. 89mins. doesnt celebrate.

  10. Hindu/Sikh integration as against Muslim integration in say Birmingham (where I lived for a spell) is a case in point. These would be the same Sikhs that cause a street riot outside a Birmingham theater because it was playing something they didn't like? Cracking example of harmonious integration that. Isolated incident tbf. The Sikhs have a long and harmounious record in the area apart from the fact that to a man they support Villa. I agree that muslims have specific problems regarding integration. But also it is true that it can occur with any faith group. Which is one reason why I am such a staunch defender of secularism and believe France are right to make a stand against extreme religions that result in the wearing of the burqa. I think in the final analysis France is correct. I agree Despite you starting the thread it's took 31 pages and someone else to say it 1st for you to voice your opinion tbf alex, a lot of pages were taken up with direct attacks at LM and his defence. also, i think it pretty much showed my opinion that not only did i post the op i then added the follow on when it was lagging a bit. just cos i didnt say it 1st doesnt make me a loser here. (btw, i agree with LM about life experience. much better to have something thats been proven workable than a theory from a book)
  11. ukip's a daft party with one policy. i know, i was a member of it (very briefly).

  15. I have to say, its nice to see a nufc manager actually thinking about his signings carefully instead of just splurging cash left right and centre, al la Guillit, Souness et all. I reckon this lad will be canny. I've only heard bits and bobs about him but its all good.

We'll be doing stuff from Sex Pistols, Wasp, Def Leppard, Scorps, Anthrax, Therapy?, Priest and many more. Own gear and transport essential. age group?......... anything really as long as you can walk the walk. PM me here. Thanks!
  19. The above is nothing to do with the masses. It's just the top 3% protecting what THEY have and looking for ways to get more of it. The masses are basically not in the game. THIS is CAPITALISM dear boy. Obviously, old fruit. What is interesting is how easlily the masses are manipulated against their own interests - they revolt at paying for healthcare but think the above is somehow acceptable. whats the unemployment level like in the states? a lot of americans would baulk at the idea of paying for someone elses healthcare. just selfish i guess........... (or looking out for no.1, depending upon your pov.)
