The Northern Rock sponsor will only last for 1 more season anyway, so there will be a slight change at the start of the 2010/11 season.

Okay, Mike. Or is it Dermott? Welbeck nicks the ball into a fantastic place for him to slip it easily into the goal (the goalkeeper is never going to get it) and deliberately falls over. Yeah, right. Neither Never a penalty in a million years. Next. And this is why TV replays would never work in football apart from proving if the ball crossed the line.... 2 people see exactly the same replay, and have totally different opinions on it. When I first seen it I thought it was a certain penalty tbh.

A Liverpool player's career at Anfield looks over after claims he behaved offensively during the Hillsborough memorial service on Wednesday. Charles Itandje, the club's reserve goalkeeper, was reportedly caught by television cameras laughing and fooling around during the service to mark the 20th anniversary of the deaths of 96 Liverpool supporters at Hillsborough, according to the Liverpool Echo. Outraged supporters have complained about Itandje’s behaviour on internet message boards and the club are understood to be livid with the 26-year-old after studying footage of the incident, with a view to taking disciplinary action. Rafael Benitez is said to be disgusted by the goalkeeper's behaviour, which has been described as "wholly unacceptable" and club officials are reported to be exploring the maximum punishment they can impose on the player. He is unlikely to play for the club again. Supporters claim Itandje was seen laughing and joking and simulating dance moves during the “Tragedy” song sung at the service. The rest of the Liverpool squad conducted themselves impeccably, as did members of the youth and reserve teams who were also present. Itandje joined Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer of 2007. The former Lens player has only featured in seven first-team games since then, with his last appearance coming in last season’s shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Barnsley. More news to follow.

Sam Allardyce has launched a scathing attack on Rafa Benitez in the wake of Blackburn's 4-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday. Allardyce has accused the Spaniard of being 'disrespectful' and 'humiliating' over gestures he made on the touchline after Fernando Torres had headed the home side into a two-goal lead before the interval. Television replays showed Benitez shrugged his shoulders and then crossed his hands, which Allardyce has taken to mean that the Reds boss felt the game was already over, even though there was almost an hour still to play. Relegation-threatened Rovers, who were second best throughout the match, were missing several players through injury and employed centre-back Chris Samba in a lone striking role. Allardyce claims he attempted to speak to Benitez about his actions after the game but could not make contact with the Spaniard and has been left fuming by the incident. Humiliating He told Sky Sports News: "It's not out of our system for two reasons. One is the disappointment at the way the team performed. I know we had a lot of injuries on the day, but I still felt that we should have gone there and done better than we did. "And two, is the unfortunate gestures from Rafa Benitez after the second goal. I wanted to clarify his gestures. I think you'll see them as pretty dismissive to me and to Blackburn Rovers' team as a whole. "I think they are disrespectful and quite humiliating. "I waited to have a word with Rafa Benitez in his room after the game but as usual, and unfortunately, he didn't turn up. "I was hugely disappointed by those gestures and having re-looked at them this week I think I'm right and I think everyone will see why I'm complaining." When asked if he felt Benitez was writing his side off, Allardyce replied: "That was the feeling by the gestures. It was an open arms and a cross-over of arms as if that was it. "The game is hard enough as it is without a fellow manager trying to do, what seemed to be, an undermining gesture."[/i] I really can't stand this fat prick...

Some of the English clubs have not really been trying though. Very true. If a half decent English club gives 100% in the UEFA Cup they usually go quite far... Boro a few seasons ago for example. And before that we got to the quarter and semi finals, and really should have went further tbh. I honestly think that if Villa, and possibly even Spurs, could have went really far in the UEFA Cup this season if they weren't distracted by Premier League issues, that realistically were not going to happen, i.e. Villa finishing 4th, and Spurs being relegated.

What's the crack for this then? What time do you leave / arrive? Drinking allowed?
-
tbf i think the back page run a decent service apart from the little chavs running about. if you get your train tickets early enough will they not be cheaper ? Back Page is not a bad service but it's for kids like.... not being able to have a drink on a coach journey to watch Newcastle? Howay! And the cheapest train is £90.
-
I know it's a bit early for this one, but with it being on a Sunday it looks like the train tickets are gonna be really expensive, and having used Back Page once this season and therefore wanting to avoid it like the fuckin' plague, I was wondering what other people were planning on doing for travel? Has anyone used Toon Away before? I know someone on here has a hand in running it, so any info would be appreciated! Tickets on sale now btw. Hopefully this match won't count for anything because we'll already be safe, eh?

See, I think that car looks lush... the blue one anyway. Far better than that pink Range Rover obviously It was said that the pink Range Rover was his missus' car like.

Colo the clown dropped as well I see...

I assume Martins is injured?
-
Part timer tbh. Monday night games just do not allow for enough drinking to be had beforehand in order to watch the 90 minutes of shite...
-
Fucking typical. I knew one of them would be a Monday like. I think it's good news that it's on a Monday to be honest, half days at work, people pissed, good atmosphere, home win, or so I hope. I like Monday games. I'm surprised Portsmouth, Villa and Fulham aren't on SKY as well You would, you selfish prick Monday games = shite atmosphere though iyam. Villa was a good atmosphere, and City. I think that was down to the bad refereeing decision(Man City), which always gets the crowd going, and us actually winning against a team in the top 6 (probably top 4 at the time, Villa).

...and force our away fans over to that shithole getting back at 1am in the morning. At the end of the day I feel sorry for people Scottish Mag, but see if I supported a club at the other end of the country like him or Matt, I'd either move there or pipe down. This benefits a lot of people this. Not really... even for people who live / work in the area. We only have 1 Saturday 3pm kick off at home left thios season now... and our next 5 games are on telly.

Official Jimbo's TV Confirmation: Alan Shearer: Manager of Newcastle United

Kinnear 'will resume Magpies job' Kinnear is recovering from a triple heart bypass but will return in summer. Newcastle United expect Joe Kinnear to return as manager this summer, when he has fully recovered from heart surgery. Managing director Derek Llambias revealed that the former Wimbledon boss will take over from interim manager Alan Shearer once the season is over. "Both Joe and the club have decided it is sensible that Joe does not return to management this season," said Llambias. "He needs to concentrate on making a full recovery before his return in the summer as our manager." Kinnear had a triple heart bypass in February and had initially been expected to return in April. Joe Kinnear - Hope he recovers fully but we didn't want him as manager in the first place and we don't want him back as manager With his return delayed the club have turned to former Newcastle and England striker Shearer. He has been appointed until the end of May and insists he will only be in charge at the relegation-threatened club for eight games. "Joe is recovering at home. What part Joe has to play for next season or the season after that, you will have to speak to the necessary people (about). I have nothing to do with that," Shearer said. -
