  3. UEFA have charged FYR Macedonian club FK Pobeda for "manipulating the outcome of a UEFA match to gain undue advantage for themselves and a third party". The charge relates to a 2004 Champions League first qualifying round match against FC Pyunik in Skopje, which the Armenian side won 3-1. The charge also implicates the president of FK Pobeda, as well as a player, with UEFA's Control & Disciplinary Body set to deal with the case on April 17. UEFA revealed in a statement they had brought the charge, almost five years after the game was played, based on reports of irregular betting patterns and declarations from witnesses. Pyunik scored three first-half goals without reply in the match. Their 17-year-old striker Edgar Manucharyan scored a double either side of Zhora Hovhannisyan's strike before Pyunik had Karen Aleksanyan sent off just before the break. Pobeda pulled a goal back through Blagoja Gesoski 10 minutes from time, but they did not progress after drawing the away leg 1-1 in Yerevan. A statement on UEFA's website read: "UEFA has announced today that the Macedonian club FK Pobeda, its president and one player have been charged for being in breach of the principles of integrity and sportsmanship by manipulating the outcome of a UEFA match to gain an undue advantage for themselves and a third party. "The match under investigation was the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round first leg between FK Pobeda and FC Pyunik on 13 July 2004. "The charge is based on reports received from the betting industry on irregular betting patterns and the declarations of several witnesses. "The control & disciplinary body will deal with the case on 17 April."
  4. Yeah but he wasn't even booked for that, which he could have seen red for, and was then booked about 2 seconds later for a tackle which also could have been red. He has played well the last couple of games I admit... but one swallow and summer, etc.
  5. Should have been sent off against Man u and Arsenal like...
  6. Serious question, how can you tell which ones are muslim, other than two (I make it) who have islamic names (and one of these has a beard)? Also is it over-compensation from the Beeb's point of view, or is it that muslims tend to be more materialistic and entrepreneurial than the general population (that would be my personal experience of quite a lot of asian people tttt, doesn't apply to all asians, obviously)? Anyway, they look like a bunch of cunts already. This should be fun. That Anita Shah her face tells a thousand stories, and if things weren't bad enough for her she's brummie as well. Possibly the ugliest woman I've seen in a while... look at that chin man. Amir Khan would kill for that.
  7. He looked more than committed in the majority of games he played for Newcastle tbh. I couldn't care less about his living arrangements. The article suggests his living arrangements have had a negative impact on his relationship with his team mates, and I can see why. His commitment on the pitch isn't in doubt, but I'd expect him to promote the club and city more off the pitch as well. I had the same issue with Gullit living in Amsterdam. Sorry, but frankly I find it insulting. I doubt the article has much, if any, hint of truth in it tbh. Not a quote to be seen, not even from the infamous club insider... Promoting the city off the pitch? Like Dyer, Bramble, N'Zogbia, Carroll, Bellamy etc, etc? Out getting pissed in the Bigg Market?
  8. Sky Sports News understands Newcastle have no plans to bring in Terry Venables as manager on a temporary basis. Reports on Tuesday suggested Newcastle were considering appointing Venables on a stop-gap basis as Joe Kinnear continues his recovery from heart surgery. Caretaker management duo Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood are currently in charge of first-team affairs at St James' Park with reports suggesting a number of players had called for an experienced head like Venables to come in and steady the ship. Newcastle dropped into the relegation zone after losing 3-1 to Arsenal at the weekend, but the club's hierarchy are thought to be happy with their current coaching set-up and have ruled out a move for former England chief Venables.
  9. Well he has Spurs connections so that's the first question in the interview answered correctly.
  10. In no particular order... Gavin McCann Jermaine Jenas Ashley Cole Gary Neville Lee Cattermole Stephen Carr El Hadj Diouf Cristiano Ronlado John Terry Nani Probably a lot more too, tbh.
  11. I can imagine Ashley giving a running commentary... "Brilliant cross from Gutierez, and a brilliant scuffed shot 10 yards wide from Shola Ameobi. I'm glad he's on a new 3 year contract!"
  12. Hope it doesn't go to Australia tbh... the kick off times would be a nightmare for a start.
  13. Are sunderland going to be in the Champions League like?
  14. That one is from the home game a few months later I think. Those were the days eh!
  15. That's like saying you'd rather have 2 weeks in Paradise rather than fully blown bad aids.
  16. The players and the coaching team? alreetlike, tbh.
  17. Knowing some of the people who are going, and their past record at away matches, we're fucked.
  18. Matty

    Mirandinha

can just imagine those three patrolling the technical area Tino sniffing the lines, Ketsbaia kicking the shite out of the advertising boards, and Mirandinha looking the wrong way?
  19. To be fair, they were both factually correct. Taylor is shit and Ronaldo is ugly.
  20. What the fuck are some of you going on about? Crime statistics? Ashley Cole is a cock, and he's lucky he didn't cheating on his wife with another minger like he did last time. No need for analysis, he's just a twat.
  21. Ashley Cole was reportedly arrested early on Thursday morning after a drunken confrontation with police. The Daily Mail online claims that Cole was arrested after repeatedly swearing at police outside the Collection nightclub in Brompton Road, South Kensington. Cole had attended a charity event at Chelsea Football Club before heading to Collection, which he left at 2.15am. After reportedly refusing to tone down his language, Cole was arrested and taken into custody to sober up, before being released three hours later with a fixed penalty notice of £80 for being drunk and disorderly. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "At about 2.15am today, a man was arrested in Brompton Road, South Kensington, on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and taken to a central London police station where he was later issued with a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and released at 5.37am."
  22. Ah well then... dunno why we're all worrying!
  23. From nufc.com Premier League: Manchester United (h) This evening sees the current Premier League champions visit Tyneside for a non-televised 7.45pm KO. Tickets remain on public sale for this game from the SJP box office and club shops across the city. Tuesday night saw all three Premier League games finish positively from our perspective, with Portsmouth, West Brom and the mackems all losing to top five sides. For the visitors, Edwin Van der Sar is expected to return between the posts as he bids to extend his amazing sequence of shutouts to 17 games (15 in the Premier). The last goal he conceded was to Sami Nasri in the 48th minute of Man United's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal back in November. Since then he's kept clean sheets against Stoke, Villa, Man City, the mackems, Spurs, Stoke again, the smoggies, Southampton in the FA Cup, Chelsea, Wigan, Bolton, West Brom, Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Inter Milan in the Champions League. It's 13 years to the day since the two sides met at Gallowgate, with the Magpies losing 0-1 in what was to prove a pivotal evening in the race for the title. After Newcastle had bombarded the Gallowgate goal in the opening half without making a breakthrough, former Toon star Andy Cole set up Eric Cantona to score the only goal of the game six minutes after the restart. That narrowed the gap between Kevin Keegan's league leaders and Alex Ferguson's second-placed side to just three points, with ten games to play. The gap between the two Uniteds in 2009 currently stands at a mere 14 places and 34 points. The teams for that game were: NUFC: Srnicek, Barton, Beresford, Batty, Howey, Albert, Asprilla, Lee, Ferdinand, Beardsley, Ginola. MUFC: Schmeichel, Irwin, Neville P, Bruce, Neville G, Sharpe, Cantona, Keane, Cole, Butt, Giggs. NUFC: to follow...the club confirmed on Tuesday that both Nicky Butt and Damien Duff will miss the game with knee and calf injuries respectively. The unavailability of other midfielders Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan and Danny Guthrie leaves the Magpies short-handed in the centre of the park. Ryan Taylor appeared there at Bolton, while Geremi replaced Butt at the Reebok and Alan Smith remained unused (and fuming) on the bench. Nolan serves the second of a three game ban, while broken metatarsal victim Barton is expected to feature within four weeks. Guthrie meanwhile is pencilled in for the Hull game after hamstring trouble, with Duff predicted to be available for the KC Stadium trip. The extent of Butt's injury is still being assessed. Michael Owen (ankle/groin) and Habib Beye (ankle) have both set their own return dates of Hull (a) and Arsenal (h) respectively, while forgotten man Nacho Gonzalez is on course to make a return to action after being out since September 2008 with achilles trouble. The toe injury picked up by Xisco on his reserve debut in early February was diagnosed as requiring a three weeks layoff. The Spaniard however commented on Friday that he hoped to be playing again "within a few weeks". Monday's reserve victory was completed without the services of Nile Ranger or Kazenga LuaLua - it remains to be seen whether either make Wednesday's squad. MUFC: to follow...ahead of this game, Alex Ferguson added yet another trophy to his collection, with victory over Spurs at Wembley in Sunday's League Cup Final. However his side required a penalty shootout after a scoreless 120 minutes of play, after resting the likes of Carrick, Rooney, Berbatov, Van der Sar, Fletcher and Park ahead of their trip to Gallowgate.
