  1. is anyone going to provide decent opposition between now and seasons end ? PNE were supposed to be one of these mythical 'battle hardened' CCC sides that were going to cause loads of problems this league will be won by end of march 2010 - joke league.
  2. piece of piss - 2 nowt easy
  3. you're still a complete tit though you're too kind. Ashley will NOT sell anyone in the January window that wants to be here - only those that want to be away will go and that = no one of any note. yes, it is tight points wise at present, but I guarantee you that when Dec 31 2009 comes along the points gap between the top 2 and 3rd spot, will be almost double figures - having gone thru the fixtures of all rivals { not a lot else to do where i've been for past few weeks}, I can tell you there is no problem. proof of the pudding is in the eating of course, and the christmas pud on new years eve will, go down greaaaaaaattttttttt
  4. many other 'hurtful' names, but old accadacca is being proved 100% correct ! It would be churlish of me to say I told you so, but you know what ? I TOLD YOU SO !!!! Already averaging over 2 points per game with no one but WBA able to keep up - its in the bag boys and girls, its in the bag. Good to be back.
  5. it's the tension man - all unbelievers no doubt, waiting for things to go wrong. ffs don't criticise lads who have done a 650 mile round trip - they were there and that is what is important.
  6. 26 in squad WBA: 29 in squad Blades: 24 in squad Cardiff: 26 in squad Preston 24 in squad Leicester 31 in squad Bristol: 27 in squad AND THE MIGHTY TOON: 30 in squad ---------------- OK then. What does this all mean? Maybe my fears about depth are mislaid a little. We have 30 while the average for the others listed is 26.7. So, really, we're all in the same boat together. We also have (arguably) a better standard of player against most of these sides. Really, the main problem will be WBA and Boro. Getting away with a draw away to West Brom was a great result--but we MUST win at home. But our games against Boro are the most important. Both come a long way into the season (at home in December, away to them in March), when the depth of the squad may be sorely tested. said this last week. to be sure of going up, 90 points will be needed - just cannot see that not being achieved to those lads earlier in the thread describing me as ''kid'' thankyou, as when you're nearing 50, even misplaced and eroneous commnents are welcome
  7. You really are Mike Ashley aren't you? well if you can convince me paying someone £20k per week for being no better than what is already on the books is a good idea, I WILL COUGH to being MA OK ? He truly is ordinary - another Ray Clarke
  8. Are you sure it wasnt Folan they mentioned, not Fagan? he's joining the Smogs tomorrow - and it is Caleb Folan
  9. Did you see something today to suggest he isn't? can't get in the side ahead of bothroyd says it all really.
  10. IF the papers are to be believed, Cousin from Hull is on his way. With Carroll back this week, and Lovenkrands match fitness improving, what is the point of paying out £20k + per week on a guy who is no better than what is there at present. ??? He has no pace, is not that great at holding the ball up, and is only reasonable in the air. Getting players in on loan just for the sake of it is just plain stupidity imo
  11. I am getting the odds tomorrow for us beating the record 106 points total by Reading set 3 seasons ago. Getting to 107 would involve dropping 31 points of which 2 have already gone. Where will the other 29 come from ? Serious question {cue all the doom mongers slavvering on about when we get loads of injuries}. Very few points will be dropped at SJP - only Boro, WBA and Sheff Utd are strong enough to avoid defeat up here. 4 or 5 possible tricky away games - Boro, Sheff Utd, Derby, Forest and Preston, but I just cannot see where 29 points are going to be lost between now and season's end. delusional ? NO overly optimistic ? NO realistic - YES.
  12. Next year's summer holiday for me and the missus now paid for - thanks Colo. Plenty more money to be made until end of season anarl. Have told you this CCC is full of mediocre teams - even the supposed ''good ones'' are little better than mdeiocre. And people on here were worried about Cardiff - someone even said that Ledley and McCormack were Prem' quality Defence is as solid as owt, the midfield is full of grafters who are comfortable on the ball - they might not have a defence splitting ball in their locker, but they are not scared in possession like most CCC midfielders, whilst upfront there is at present not much of a threat, but Carroll will be back soon, Lovenkrands will soon be match fit and Gutierrez will be back in 2-3 weeks. I may have gone a bit OTT saying we will piss the league, but we will win it by quite a few points - similar to Wolves over Brum + a few. Start believing you unbelievers.
  13. an awful performance eh ? a 1-0 win at a supposed main rival without 3 main players - I'll take this every week no problem.
  14. Eggfuckingzacly! We wouldn't be playing in the second tier if they were "premiership quality players!" not all of them obviously. you telling me that Smith, Nolan, Barton and S. Taylor aren't Premier standard ? reason for relegation was due to a lot of factors one of which was some weren't prem quality and couldnt be carried by those that were - Barton and Smith were out of action for long spells if you remember.
  15. This for me. Having said that, when I consider that players might have been playing for the shop window, my optimism for Sunday falters. It could be argued that our start to the season has been down to players playing well to engineer a move; rather than Hughton's influence. Still, I'm inclined to bellive he's been working hard and it's paying off. Fair play to him. how negative are you ffs ? ''playing for the shop window'' - why is it that no one seems to accept that the group of players left, are determined to atone for relegation last season ? it is so easy to brand all players as uncaring, greedy etc - some might just have a semblance of pride and dignity and want to repay the fans for the support that they got in the bad times. why not try and believe that or is that just too ''positive'' for you ??
  16. Lucky more like Therefore by implication, the team has been lucky to get the results. Which is patently bollocks. Hardly, the guy's said we're going to walk the league with the squad we have, the squad is obviously too thin without luck having a hand in not getting injuries - it's got bugger all to do with how the first team has performed. Therefore the guy's been lucky that the first team haven't really had injuries, if they had it's doubtful we'd have got the same results during this start to the season and it's even more doubtful that they'd continue any further in to the season. It's easy to say that with our 'first team' we'd win the league, but with our 'squad' it's a different matter altogether. ... which isn't bollocks. He's been right 'so far' as in we've beaten teams through our superior quality and not through luck. Again, the 'team'/'club' has been lucky that we havent had any injuries, not accadacca. They've not been lucky to win those games though. Aye, that's what I was trying to say. Are our ''rivals'' also lucky not to have sustained any injuries then ?
  17. What? Chopra was a decent premiership player, scored something like 8 goals in 27 games for Sunderland, including sub appearences, and half of those games he started on the wing. wow, so theres' one prem' quality player in the CCC after all eh ? from the 24 CCC teams, I defy anyone to name a first team plus 7 subs containing Prem' quality players - not including ours.
  18. your lack of debating skills are truly evident instead of posting a pointless one liner, why not try and point out the flaws in my argument - or is that too strenuous for the 3 brain cells you have
  19. brigade. This notion that Newcastle have a desperately small squad and will be in trouble if injuries abound is, on looking at the facts, a load of bollocks. The size of the United first team squad is 26 - yes, some have little or no experience, but that is exactly the same as the other squads. Barnsley, Leicester and Reading have 27 listed, Palace 28, Plymouth and Cardiff 29, Watford and QPR 30, Swansea, Ipswich and Coventry 31 {nee the wonder they are in financial difficulty}. 6 clubs have less than 26 - Sheff Utd 21 {!!}, Sheff Wed 22, Preston 23 Forest and Derby 24 and Peterboro 25. Boro, Scunthorpe, Bristol City and Blackpool have 26 listed - same as Newcastle. The difference is that Newcastle have genuine premiership quality players in the squad, backed up by players who are of CCC quality. The ''TOP'' CCC teams have virtually no Prem' quality players between them and the ''back up'' are mainly players of dubious CCC quality and many of whom are really Div 1 quality players. This is why I am opitmistic, and as we shall see on Sunday at a supposed promotion rival, we are just too strong - despite a couple of injuries to key players.
  20. 8 with only 4 allowed to play at any one time.
  21. Are you Mr P. Nickety or what. Its 24 hours to be able to play.
  22. tbf accadacca usually always gives some reason for his optimism. And it always makes me laugh that quite a few calling for him to stop being allowed to start threads, ALWAYS comment on his threads and virtually never start any threads themselves. All take, take, take! (you know who you are) long live accalacca. Thanks to you and others for your kind words !! So I don't back up why I am optimistic - ffs I have watched lots of CCC football on Sky over the last 2 seasons and the standard is mediocre at best. Few teams can knock the ball around as they don't have the talented players to do so, as the Prem more often than not snap them up along with any decent strikers and defenders. How many players in the CCC now deserve to be playing in the Prem ? Not many - if Joe Ledley is one of the best players in the CCC, then that shows how poor it is. He is ordinary and we will see that on Sunday. Whatever happened last season, the fact is we should not have gone down. The off the field antics were ridiculous whilst injuries didnt help and neither did all the managerial changes. For me, Shearer should have kept us up but his tactics were awful, and his failure to inpire and motivate were extremely disappointing. That squad should never have been relegated, and whilst 10/11 have gone, a good nucleus is still there. Try and tell me that Harper, Barton, Taylor, Nolan, Gutierrez, Enrique, Lovenkrands and Smith aren't a cut above CCC standard. The likes of Simpson, Ryan Taylor, Carroll, Guthrie, Colo and Ameobi are good quality CCC players and therefore imo, there is a good mix to get us up. Forget Geremi and Butt, they should have their contrracts paid up and peddled. The pessimists on here go on about injuries and how that could cause a derailment. Yes, it COULD, but the loan system means if disaster occurs, Hughton can dip in. Yeah, we might not get Prem' quality players, but he'll have a choice of players who clubs are prepared to release, who are MORE than capable of playing in the CCC. If anyone can argue with the above, I would be surprised and as for being delusional - what aload of bollocks. I keep backing what I say in the bookies, and have next summer's holiday virtually paid for - after Cardiff it will be, but I expect Easter and Christmas holidays to be paid for by the season's end for the reasons stated above. I know that if we hit a rocky patch and don't win in 3/4 games {can't see it happening mind} that the knives and vitriol will be out big time, but I am backing Hughton to take the club straight back up as champions. There are only 5 contenders for the top 2 imo - Boro, WBA, Sheff Utd and Cardiff and us. There are a few pretenders for the play offs - Ipswich, Preston, Forest, Bristol City and possibly QPR, but the rest are also rans and nobodies. Relax and enjoy, and keep needless pessimism OFF this board. Ans as for ''ho'way'', the only people I've heard pronouce it like that are wullies
  23. is probably the correct answer. oh dear, we aren't going to start putting our academic qualifications on the table are we ? ps wtf is a ''wum'' YOU! knew that was coming
