Also ryan taylor is responsible so many times for dragging the whole midfield backwards into our own half. What pardew needs to do: 1 ) Get obertan on the right wing where he had a decent game last time round. 2) 60th minute throw on Ba for cabaye and possibly lovelyhands for shola.

This is the muslim holy month, where they are fasting, praying etc, - They majority wont fight, and even if they do, they'll be too low on glucose and energy to have any impact. Doubt it. Ferguson is usually spot on when it comes to realising a players potential. I think the obertan will make little if any improvement on the player he is now. If anything i see him struggling here, and us offloading him cheaper. We're not really sharp on recognising and utilising a players potential (just ask guiseppe rossi). Anyway average players can hide their weaknesses easier when theyre playing for a top team. In my opinion, this is the reality of what we have at the team so far Tiote, Jose, Collocini, Barton, Arfa - genuine top quality Cabaye, Ba, Marveaux, Gutierez, Vukic - not sure Simpson, Williamson, Ameobi, Lovendkrands, Obertan, Raylor, Gosling - bottom half players In summary if barton and jose go, we only have 3 players that i can say in confidence, that will help us push for europe in the near future. All this premature excitement about the french army and the likes of gosling/vukic etc is something i intend on reserving judgement for later. The disappointing thing is that we're in a position where none of us really know what will happen in the coming season, when we really should have built from the last season and be more confident of things to come. And i cant reiterate my last statement enough!. I just hope my 'not sure' category of players turn out to be top quality.

DVD reel of highlights doesnt mean anything. Enrique can make 2,3 mistakes a game and simpson none but still have a better game. So many other factors come into play, such as position sense, when to close, when to attack etc . You ever seen simpson defend? He gives so much more room for the wingers to either find a pass/cross or run at him. But obviously that wont be seen as a mistake in the 'highlights DVD'. For me, he is without a doubt the best player in our team and has been for the last 3 seasons. Most of the oppositions' attacks always come from the opposite side to where he is defending. When or IF he does leave it will be the saddest ive been for ANY player leaving Newcastle Utd since Shearer decided to hang up his boots.
