    Passing

We had one great build up somewhere in the first half where our players looked semi-comfortable with the ball, which to be honest completely surprised me, although it ended up with an unsuccessful cross it did make me think that there is hope for this team somewhere down the line if we can only teach our midfielders to be comfortable while on the ball and develop the ability to construct a patient build up.
  2. As far as the national media goes I really don't care any more. When they're short of a story they'll always focus on us because they can fabricate a drama somewhere along the line. I don't believe a word they say, though unfortunately there are many who do.

    Why...

Why did Enrique not start? Why have two successive managers refused to put him in the team preferring someone who isn't a natural LB to start ahead of him? There must be something going on there that we as fans don't see. As to why Smith started I have no idea. I just hope that Keegan isn't as taken in by Smith's 'commitment' (i.e. ability to pick up yellow cards) as Fat Sam was. Apart from that I agreed with Keegan's set up and given the squad available I don't think that anyone could have picked a better starting XI.
  4. He resigned so I doubt it. Where did you hear that? Why didn't he resign after Allardyce went instead of taking snipes at the board?
  5. And I'm sure the dickhead got the pay off he was looking for. Wanker.
  6. What have the attendances been like for the recent PL Cup competitons? Have they sold out the stadiums?
  7. Is the PL more concerned about business or the sport itself? Actually that's a silly question.
  8. He's very skillful though. This is one player imo where Wenger missed the boat. Pace probably was the issue. If Milner works on his crossing, he's every bit as good as Bentley. Can't agree with you there like. I think Bentley's different class. IMO, with the exception of pace* and crossing ability, Milner has a lot going for him. The major difference between him and Bentley is delivery, from open play and set-pieces. If Milner nails that, we'd all love him. His work ethic is second to none, too. *I also don't think he's all that slow. Aye and Shola has got a lot going for him apart from a first touch and the ability to score goals, apart from that he's a world class striker. Pace and crossing ability are the two most important attributes a winger can have, Milner is lacking in both departments. Actually, I think you'll find pace isn't one of the most important attributes a winger can have. Look at Martins. The ability to beat a man, which Milner has, is what's important, and pace helps with that. Milner has enough skill and a good enough change of pace to do that. He's constantly improving, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he'll get crossing sorted out. You'll also note that I acknowledged his lack currently of his delivery. What you said about Shola is also true. So where's the problem? I disagree, pace is very important to being a top winger. What you say about Milner having skill and the ability to meet a man is very true but once he does that he often just doesn't have the pace to get away from them and create the space to put in a decent cross which is why he'll sometimes have to beat a man two or three times but saying that he is decent at what he does and makes the most of the attributes that he possesses. I'm not trying to says he's rubbish, just saying what I think are his weaknesses, for me he's the first choice right winger at the club which is a position I'd like to see us address in the summer to give Milner some competition as he's the only real option there at the minute.

  10. Do we really want to rebuild our team while including a striker who has his best days behind him? Yes Owen still has his positive attributes but if we're looking to the long term then perhaps we're better off without him provided we can get a better all round player in to replace him. Same goes for Viduka.
  11. He's now working under his fifth manager in his 3 1/2 years here, you can understand why he might be a bit disillusioned.
  12. Sky HD + multiroom = £60 Virgin XL phone + 20Mb = £37 If Virgin regained Sky One I'd probably get their TV What's on Sky One that's so special? Afraid of missing Cirque de Celebrite?
  13. Aye but where was the money going to come from for these big names? By the sounds of things we were already in a shitload of debt, I really don't think that Freddy would have had the money to give him to make a huge difference. And hasn't Keegan came out and said that he has been promised plenty of money in the summer? I don't think he would've taken the job otherwise.
  14. I agree, it's just the individuals in the structure that I'm apprehensive about, all of them seem to have on thing that links them: Kelmsley.

    Lost

Lost is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it, I love it, but I am sure they are making it up as they go along, but I still find it enjoyable, it might be worth watching the recap episode rather than watching all the episodes you've missed. Aye it's clear that that is what they were doing for the 2nd and a lot of the 3rd series but since then they've identified a definitive finish date which means they can start planning story arcs a lot better and the fact that the remaining series are only going to be 16 episodes means that we should be getting less filler.
  16. And getting relegated is going to solve that?
  17. Des Kelly, Daily Mail sports columnist, I've no idea what his column is like but he's just got a face you'd never get sick of punching.

    Obsessed

Daily Mail ffs, I read the match report in it on Wednesday and all they could say is how Keegan has already fallen flat on his face and how things are going to get much much worse for us, absolute drivel.
  19. City being relegated has nothing to do with their current success, since coming back into the PL they've been a mid/lower table team. City have improved this season simply because they brought it a top manager who was generously backed by their new owner, if we can replicate that formula I'll be very happy.
  20. C*unts with accordins aren't.
  21. I'll not be waiting up for the announcement anyway.
  22. Meh; beer, boredom and anger don't mix.
  23. The first season's smell of newly cut grass.
  24. Yeah, the majority of them. Y'know I'm guessing the majority of them haven't been, hence why there have only been about 5 suggested, unless there hasn't been any more than 9 Italians in the PL. There haven't been that many, no. It's also really ridiculous to say 'this guy's <nationality> ergo he's shit because I can't personally remember very many good players of <nationality> in the Premier League.' Let's forget for a second that you were wrong about the Italian success rate. How many dutchmen have been successful in the Premiership? I'd still have taken Bergkamp in his prime. Portuguese? Few successful ones, but I'd take Ronaldo. Argentines? Often unsuccessful. Tevez, though? Yes please. Etc. Bollocks, what I'm saying is that the best Italians seem to stay in Italy or don't adapt to English football. I'll ask another question then, how many good Italians have been developed in England? I'm guessing very, very few because most of them who are worth their salt stay in Italy. Saying that I really hope I'm proved wrong.
