  1. Speaking of first impressions...
  2. I'd say a full back(LB- Pieters would be nice) and a centre back are more vital than a striker in terms of january, especially if Pardew starts playing ben Arfa where he said he would.
  3. Thought Tiote was absolutely class for large periods of the game. Obertan shouldn't and surely won't stay in the team much longer. What a goal by Shola. I was watching in the same place as a bunch of spurs fans who took the piss when he came on. They soon piped down. HTL

I was 5 so it was my first year of school. Naturally I'm struggling to remember much.
  5. ? Who mentioned Carrick? I think you don't have a clue. Your next post will make it clear The Carrick thing is relevant to the faux-quote I said after. I don't think Carrick's a good player but apparently he "puts in a shift" because he plays for Manchester United. Similarly I think Hernandez is over-rated, and if he was playing in Bolton and not banging em in as regularly he'd have absolutely nowhere near the same amount of meck outs going on as if he's World Class, as opposed to just having good timing. Playing alongside Rooney and Man U's midfield (Carrick exempt) gives you a lot of chances, and yes his positioning is good, and yes he can apply a finish, and yes he scores a lot in the Gold Cup against the likes of Nicaragua for Mexico, still don't think he's as good as most people meck out. Saying that he wouldn't score as many goals if he played for Bolton is a terrible argument. Which world class players do you expect would score the same amount of goals for Bolton that they would for Man United?
  6. I can see your point and I don't neccesarily expect Santon to be exactly the same player in his first game. I just really don't want to see R. Taylor trying to defend against Lennon's pace.
  7. It's only Aaron Lennon man. This is the lad who had Ronaldo in his back pocket a few years ago. Plus if you think Santon would struggle then I dread to think how Ryan Taylor would do.
  8. One of the best things about sitting in the east stand is not being able to see the east stand tbh
  9. Bored. Supposed to be reading about consolidation of democracies but I've got a cold and therefore I'm struggling to concentrate.
  10. I really want to try out my ultimate team (building a french team) but can't get on the PSN at uni.
  11. Ask one of the mods mate, shouldn't be a problem. Thanks
  12. Hi, I set up this account a while ago but never really got round to using it. Is there any way of changing my name on here?
  13. I'd love it to snow enough for school to be off. Especially given that I live thirty seconds down the road. Cant need too much more surely...
  14. I really don't think Taylor is as good as some are claiming. He lacks the level of (footballing) intelligence ad technique required to be a really good centre half. He will always do well against physical sides with less quality, hence his success in the Championship, but against the top strikers with technical ability he will always struggle. Having said that he is definitly worth trying to keep because he is probably btter than Williamson, and definitely useful against the Stokes and Blackburns of the Premier League.
  15. Definitely pulling an all nighter. Can't wait.
  16. Williamson has been iffy at times tbf. He's weak as water for the size of him. The other two have been excellent on the whole but I wouldn't mind seeing Campbell at CB. I can see where you are coming from on Williamson but I'd say iffy is a bit harsh. We will probably be seeing both Campbell and Taylor against Chelsea and I'd predict whoever does better will take Williamson's place for a while.
  17. BBC Radio Newcastle commentators have very short memories. The defence has one/two poor games and suddenly Enrique's been 'decent' until now, Coloccini 'weak', and Williamson 'iffy'. In reality they have all performed above expectations this season (except Enrique who was expcted to do well) until this point. The more concerning issues, for me, from this game are the inevitable bans for Coloccini and Williamson.
  18. We will struggle to keep the ball and keep up when they've got it with that midfield.
