There are some good, young asian footballers around at the minute. Kagawa and Honda are both very talented and playing in the champions league. Thats despite the fact that football isnt ingrained in their culture as it is in much of Europe.

Not convinced he has tbh. Think he prefers baguettes anyway. I guess it's still a small sample size, given how few games he's played since his return, or few the toon as a whole. Didn't he have a bad game in our carling cup outing though? Hard to know whether that was due to fatigue, or if he was just having a day. I actually think it was the right choice for this game tbf. How long a toon fan? 18 years, conciously probably more like 12. Why the toon? Entirity of my Dad's side of the family are/were Newcastle fans. Location Lived in Newcastle until a few months ago when I moved to Nottingham for university. Toon Games been to... Not sure, had a season ticket for at least 4 years and was going a lot before I had my own. Where are we going/hav been I still think we have a long way to go to get back the level of the team I grew up with, Sir Bobby's team. Of course its harder to get there nowadays as there are so many clubs who are willing to spend to get there, something we won't do under this regime. I hope we can do it by the current method but still have my doubts.

Good win, not our best performance. Cabaye improved when Ben Arfa came on and he had someone with a little more movement to link up with. We havent worked out perfectly how to deal with 5 in midfield. I also thought it was good work by Pardew to bring Shola on as with Ba playing upfront the ball wasn't sticking, in fact he used all the subs pretty well. Thought Ryan Taylor actually had quite a good game. I'd be temtpted to play him right back ahead of Simpson when santon is considered ready. Also, it's a really shit rule that the ref has to send anyone who is bleeding off the pitch. Taylor was clearly absolutely fine to play on, why is it the refs prerogative to take us down to ten men? Seems a completely arbitrary rule to me. Does anyone know the logic behind it?

I'd say a full back(LB- Pieters would be nice) and a centre back are more vital than a striker in terms of january, especially if Pardew starts playing ben Arfa where he said he would.
