  1. I dont think agbonlahor would be that great of a signing, he seems to have lost his spark this season, think he's been influenced by heskey too much. Plus 4 years on the contract, probably will inflate his transfer fee. Still would definately improve our options, rather him then Cole I suppose. Hopefully the adulteror will be setting his sights a tad higher, then aggy and Cole (though its unlikely). Can't argue with the sturridge shout, but a reckon a loan is the only likely way we'll get him here.
  2. Was thinking that myself yesterday after seeing his heroics at Upton Park. Steven Fletcher doesn't sound like much of a signing but the boy does know where the net is. I reckon a loan for Sturridge could be on the cards (as i'd imagine they would be reluctant to sell) should Chelsea bring in another striker and keep Drogba. I agree with Kranjcar, and he is blatantly pissed he aint getting a look in at spurs - though I think he'll be off to Italy. But if they are all interested, you would get them all relatively cheap i'd imagine.
  3. What about this Ricky Van Wolfswinkel fella, everyone was raving about him at the beginning of the season. He isn't particularly prolific (for a Dutch League striker) but had decent stats in Europe. For a 22 year old, if we could gut him for no more than a couple million, could be worth a shout. Better than spending a dime on Carlton Cole.
  4. Please, mother of god, not carlton cole! I'd rather have Shola lead the line. The man is a complete donkey.
  5. Fair enough, I haven't seen him play but ima take your word on Derdiyok. God knows we need something up front.
  6. Yeah I read that as well (Real Madrid and Tottenham fee)- figured the lure of mid-table mediocrity, £20,000 a week wages and playing with people such as Perch could of been too much to turn down. Still would of loved him here, looks like a proper number 9.
  7. I would love to see Fernando Llorente come here - 25 years old 6' 5'' and a powerhouse of a striker. Isn't really getting a look in the spanish national team as they only play midgets. Still has 7 in 13 for his country.
  8. I think we all get it, you like Huntelaar and Derdiyok. Huntelaar is quality, but I got my reservations about him, he's 27 now and spent most of the past 3 seasons playing second fiddle so may be a bit of a gamble i would reckon. I aint seen much of Derdiyok, but the boys 22 and although his goal/game ratio aint amazing, could be a fairly decent acquisition, plays a similar role to Ben Arfa if I'm correct. I like the look of Connor Wickham, seems to have everything there to be top class, just hope he can cut the mustard in the premier league at present.
  9. Albert Luque, the boy had talent and at first seemed committed and well up for it, then he became seriously shit. Shame
  10. Hold on am inute one player there confuses me... Ramos?! Especially with the like of Perch in the squad
  11. "But a lot has changed. Before, we had players like Mark Viduka, and now we have players like Williamson and Perch - players who have played in the Championship and they fight to play in the Premier League." jajajajajaja
  12. I, for one, ain't got an issue with the boy. He didn't look hungry against us at all, granted it may be due to fitness, but even then it shouldn't be too for him to get on the end of a cross over Williamson. Obviously if we still had him we could of got something from the game. I'll only get bitter in September, when we've spent 12m on Carlton Cole.
  13. Looks like Captain Chicken will be signing an extension, Barton to follow one would hope!! http://www.teamtalk.com/newcastle-united/6...gpies-extension
  14. Is it just me or did Guthrie have a decent game in there
  15. Looks like pardew is taking the 'team full of cheiks' a tad bit too literal
  16. After today we'd be lucky to get anyone to come in for him
  17. Went for colo...been an ever present and has really grown in performances over the past two years; was atough call though, as all have been integral.
  18. I doubt he'll have to pay that much, I think Sow has 2 years left on his contract and Gervinho with 1, reckon could probably get the pair for £15 million. Pretty sure Gervinho could by out the rest of his contract come the summer.
  19. I read it was an enquiry into Moussa Sow and Gervinho from Lille - decent attacking options if true
  20. Mitch Hedberg, a bit sloppy but once you get used to it the man is genius
  21. AC has made serious steps in the past 18 months and has massive potential. Add Europe to the equation he is going to get even better, something we cannot currently offer him. His contract ends When he's like 27, a prime age for a striker, and with a bit of luck he'll wanna come home. In an ideal scenario we sign him on a free, mugging those dirty bin dippers for £35m and gain a vastly improved player. If we can stay up and with some reinvestment in a decent striker in the summer, I can see this being a good move. But I am forever the optimist.
