Went there in Jan about three years ago. One week touring and one week at the beach at Valadero (sp). Very interesting place and the people are fantastic. Havana is on the edge of becoming a crumbling mess - some fine architecture but little money spent to keep it up to scratch. The other places we toured were pretty much the same - nice, but well past their best. Some of the places we stayed in had been built for the soviet holiday makers and were pretty crude (one place was a lottery in respect of water, hot or cold) and the food was pretty basic. However, I am really glad we went to see it before Fidel dies and things change back to what it was.

Shouldn't make me smile, but it does.......those who slated Shepherd and Hall for "embarrassing" us, should take a good hard look at themselves instead. Of course they were, and I would fully expect most of our support to do the same if it had been a comparable club to ours going down (oo-er missus). The thing that gets me, is the amount of slagging we've got. Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the impression we have received far more written and spoken comment attacking us than we would have given other clubs in our position. If we cast our minds back, he came fairly close to getting us relegated to the third division. Then what happened??? Of course the same events will possibly not be replicated i.e. what happened in Keegan's second season and what might happen in Shearer's second term, but the same mindset is evident, and that is that the playing staff are unable to play the way required. Keegan knew this and so does Shearer. Keegan knew what had to be done and he did it. I believe Shearer is capable of doing what is necessary, and he has my full support. Won the title last year due to the SFA fucking Rangers in respect of fixture pile up and having to play so many games in the last week. Went there last year with Mrs Hips. Fantastic. Love the place. Stayed at Bellagio first, then MGM Grand when we went back. However, what me and wor lass did whilst there bears no resemblence to what you and your mates will want to do. Apart, maybe, from a helicopter ride to Grand Canyon (with champagne lunch in the Canyon) which was just burilliant.

What must be borne in mind regarding home gates is the away support as there must be a few clubs' supporters really looking forward to going to SJP. Season ticket sales? Who knows. Probably around 30k. I'm now contemplating buying one, for the first time ever.
